I love to laugh and have fun but I can be serious (if I must). Although I do enjoy quiet time relaxing indoors, sometimes even playing a board game, especially Scrabble! (yes, seriously), I absolutely love being outdoors whether it's hiking, cycling or simply spending a sunny day outside. Of all my listed interests, music is one of my two strongest passions. I greatly enjoy almost all forms of music, from Afghani to Zydeco (that's A to Z). And, although television isn't a mainstay, I do enjoy a few shows throughout the week (just ask, if you're curious). I like to read, when time permits, but my taste in literature is far from mainstream.

I'm an avid cyclist, having completed my first four Metric Centuries in November 2009. Although it's not an expectation, I would greatly enjoy finding someone who shares a cycling passion, among others, or at the very least enjoys exercising (e.g. not a couch potato).

I enjoy conversing, rather than debating, and am almost always up for hearty and interesting conversation rather than idle prattle. I don’t believe in beating around the bush or skirting an issue. I've long felt that respectful and honest communication is key to sharing something of substance with someone. If a disagreement arises, I like to address it and arrive at a mutually acceptable resolution…even if that is to agree that we might not see eye to eye but can still respect each other's opinion(s) and feelings.

As for my ideal match: It would be nothing short of amazing to find a lady with whom several interests and passions are shared, tempered with enough diversity and energy that we could discover and enjoy many new things together while still respecting that we each have our own individuality. Is it such an unreasonable romantic expectation to find this amazing person who also has just as unique a sense of humor and isn't too hard on the peepers? I think not.

Interesting conversation, with an even more interesting person, with a shared attraction and passions. Where to go and what to do simply depends on the mood and venue.
