About Me
I am a pretty low-maintenance, easy going guy. I don't have to be doing something spectacular for it to be memorable. I can get such a rush from a late-night conversation with someone, feeling like we are connecting, and that maybe together we have just solved some unimportant little mystery about the world. At least in our heads. :) I certainly don't take myself too seriously. I find being able to laugh at myself to be very liberating.

I love to sing, and do perform in shows on occasion. When not such an occasion, you can often find me tearing up a Journey tune at the local karaoke joint. And if I am in a particularly audacious mood, I might just break out a little Dolly Parton. In as manly a way as possible, of course.

In general, I love that shared experience of sitting in a movie theater, when everyone claps because the hero did what he was supposed to do. Or that overwhelming urge to rise out of your seat at the end of the first act because the star absolutely nailed it. So much so that you have to text your friends to let them know. And I love the good food you get after such an event...drinking a glass of wine, talking about what we just witnessed, good or bad.

I am originally from Iowa, so I think there is still a lot of that small-town boy in me. It is kinda true, the notion that "you can take the boy out of Iowa, but you can't take the Iowa out of the boy."

As a career, I build websites for Disney. Ironically, I quit my job working for Disney a couple years ago, with the goal of shaking things up...to travel and see the world, and it started off swimmingly. But upon returning from a month in Paris, I agreed to help out an old boss on a "2-3 month project." Well, 2-3 months became 6 months...became 2 years. And one project became 2 projects....became 4 projects, and now I do more work for Disney than when I actually worked for them. Go figure. :) So, though the work has been good, what I really enjoy is the thought of the adventures yet to come.

I find myself drawn to someone who has a special relationship with words. Someone who enjoys putting those words together to make banter. I can then put those 'banters' together to make me smile, and put those smiles together to make me happy. The possibilities are endless! I’m looking for someone who also doesn't take herself too seriously, and who realizes it's OK to let her guard down from time to time. I find some of the most charming displays of one's sense of humor to be the simple act of laughing at oneself.

I am looking for that person with whom to share the ups and downs of life. To feel that sense when some one "gets you," in that way that others might not.
