| | Me: - I work full time and am taking classes on the side towards a Masters degree, so I might not have as much free time as others for the time being. - I tend to be a bit shy until I get to know you. - I love to travel - and not always the five star type. I spent a good bit of time in Africa and learned alot about the world, and about myself. It was amazing and I fully intend to return. - I'm not really the churchy type. - I value intelligent discussion. - I love anything to do with flying, heights, and all types of aircraft that keep a person sky-bound (the licence will come after the degree). - I got me an education because I like to learn new things and be challenged (ie. I'm not superficial about it). - I like reading, going to movies & enjoy most types of music. - I try to get a decent amount of exercise for it's many mental and physical benefits. That said, I'm more attracted to the self-professed 'geek' type and less to the 'jock' type. - While I never did develop a fond interest in hockey, football, golf, skiing, snowboarding or rollerblading, I do enjoy running, biking, getting to the gym and climbing. Oh, and anything that gets me to a mountaintop. - I think that growing up just means having the resources to play in bigger playgrounds. - I like to dance, but more in pubs with the excellent east coast tunes. I'm not the life-of-the-party type, but still like going out. - I don't do games and still believe in fidelity. - I like road trips and the great outdoors, though more in the summer. - I'm far more interested in your maturity, interests, values and intelligence and couldn't care less whether you drive a little hatchback or a porche (ie. your toys should not define you - I value simplicity). - Je parle Francais, et j'aimerai l'ameliorer - I've been wondering why there isn't much racial diversity on here? - I will send a picture on request (I find I get only serious folks writing that way)
You: - You actually put a little effort into writing a bit about yourself in your profile (as a first impression, it shows us girls that you're likely to put effort into a relationship too). - You are educated in some sense (broadly defined) and even like your job. - You have travelled outside the confines of North America (I don't mean the Carribean all-inclusive) and know a bit about the world and its many wonders and issues, with a desire to keep travelling (nothing against this end of the world, but it lacks the perspective gained from going a little further beyond Club Med). - You can make me laugh and know how to express yourself. - You like pubs more than the "just-turned-18-dance-bars" - You are a more or less happy and optimistic person. - You're some mix of calm, kind, honest, blunt, adaptable, adventurous, strong character, have integrity, down-to-earth, patient, thoughtful, and most importantly, you're socially aware... - You voted in the last election and can even defend your choice. - You think Barack Obama is pretty excellent. - You think that the downtown airport should not be demolished (had to add this one!) - You have a backbone and stick up for yourself.
- Bonus for me: if you like flying and know a bit about aircraft in general or if you're musically inclined. - My biggest turn-off: ignorance (ie. you don't intentionally live in a bubble and genuinely care about those around you - whether you know them or not). - I'll be impressed if you do or have done a little volunteer work occasionally. - You know that having something in common is a good foundation for friendship and a possible relationship so if you think you have something in common with me based on the above, gimme a buzz. Eventually, I am interested in a long-term relationship, but I'm in no rush to do so - it's fun just getting to know someone new. None of us are runway models, but there's some truly good people on here. |
