Update 10-30-09: I'm finally settled in the new apartment in Lenexa and FINALLY have internet again!

First and foremost, I believe in honesty. Yes, my profile says separated. There's no chance of reconciliation, but the D-word takes time and money. There's no emotional baggage, and no drama - it is what it is. I'm perfectly willing to be the person to give an honest answer to the odd questions that come up in life, and I hope for the same from my friends. Honesty isn't always comfortable, but it's ALWAYS better in the long run!

I'm looking for someone who is interesting in being a friend and spending time together things, whether it's trying new things, just hanging out at home, going to a favorite site or restaurant, going out to play pool (I love the game, but I'm not that good at it!), taking a drive, or whatever we both feel like doing! If something more than a friendship develops, then lets see where it leads. If it doesn't, then a good friend is still a good friend. With the right person I enjoy cuddling, holding hands, and being romantic - even mushy at times. I have a good sense of humor, and even enjoy laughing at myself. I like spending time with friends and family, and it doesn't matter to me whether it's just hanging out at home playing games/watching movies or going to the zoo, park, museum, restaurant or whatever. I love to travel, but don't get to do so as often as I'd like.

I love almost all kinds of music (don't care for Opera). I think jazz is my favorite (though this o changes depending on my mood), and I'd love to find someone that enjoys jazz as much as I do. Things that I enjoy but feel less experienced at include the outdoors (never been camping, haven't been fishing for 25 years), working out (I'm trying to get myself back into shape), dancing (I've always wanted to learn, but never found anyone who's interested in learning with me or helping me learn), and motorcycles (always wanted one, but it hasn't happened yet). I'd love to find someone interested in things like this and willing to be patient with me as I learn! Also, I do have two cats, so I hope you're not allergic to cats!

Honestly, I'm not even sure about a first date - I guess that would depend on the person. Most of the time I think I'd be more comfortable getting to know the person first to make sure there's enough interest there on BOTH sides before actually going on a DATE.

That said, if both parties are interested and attracted, I'd love to take a lady out to a nice restaurant with good food and a quiet atmosphere where we can talk without shouting. After dinner, going someplace fun that allows us to be romantic if we feel - walking around the zoo or park holding hands, cuddling in a theatre, walking arm-in-arm in a museum or exhibit, sitting with each other at a jazz show.
