About Me
So what about me...

I try to spend my time as actively as I can. If I'm not at home or work then hopefully I'm playing a sport, climbing a peak, or sailing on the water. All those 'interests' listed above are where my time goes... Time for recreation is one of, if not the, greatest privilege of living in an affluent society such as ours, so taking advantage is pretty important to me.

I feel my career is at, or even ahead of, where I could wish for it to be. I've been extremely fortunate to stumble upon that opportunity, and by no means can I take full personal credit for it, but I know that if I hadn't put in a lot of hard work beforehand, the chance would not have been available either.

Thankfully my job is one that provides me with limitless growth potential and opportunities to add value. I'm willing to lose some schedule flexibility in order to have a career that keeps me engaged - I prefer it be more than just a means to an ends. If I'm going to spend a good portion of my life selling my labour, I figure it's a lot easier to stomach if I'm engaged in what I'm doing.

Having finished school nearly 3 years ago now (yikes!) I know more than ever that I have to go back. This last couple months have really affirmed that for me, and I'm really digging into potential programs of interest. Considering I have no specific area of study that is jumping out at me, the options are seemingly limitless. All I know is I want my Master's (probably some kind of MA, that much I think I'm sure of) to be in a field that may be a bit 'out there' somehow.

I do like travel, but I don't see myself jet-setting for a year at a time. I like experiencing new places, meeting new people, etc., but it does not offer me life fulfillment. I need to be creating something I perceive as valuable for people on this earth, whatever that may be.

I have a huge appreciation for music and musical talent, but I don't own an ipod or listen to music extensively. Instead I prefer to pursue it as a hobby. I currently dedicate some time to the guitar, but miss the piano I grew up playing, and one day hope to have one of my own and resume my study of it.

My ideas and opinions are drawn from every source I can find, and as such I generally prefer to listen and observe. I love those moments of academic or intellectual 'breakthrough' when an idea or concept becomes crystallized in your mind. Yet with each one, I inevitably come to the realization this answer just opens up yet more questions. We use the "known knowns" to unlock the "known unkknowns", which unlock the previously "unknown unknowns" (kudos if you know who came up with those 3 phrases - it certainly wasn't me).

Feel free to message me about any or everything - I'll give you my internet guarantee that I will respond (at least once, and maybe not right away - but I will).

One last thing - don't make me a 'favorite' and then never even send a message - that's just nonsensical!
