About Me
I'm fortunate to be gainfully employed in these tough times at a company I love and I work with some of the coolest people in the world. A recent promotion has put me in a new field, and it's a tough and challenging position for me, but I always seem to be able to swim when I'm in over my head. One thing I learned from playing music for many years is that the best way to get better is to play with people who are better than you are, and soon you will be able to do things you never thought possible. So I'm in an exciting place right now in life as I take on new challenges.
Of course there's more to life than work, even if you love your job. I learned to sail as a very young boy, and after spending some time away from it I got back into it a few years ago, and have really been enjoying it for the last few years and managed to have some really great times. Ask me about Banderas Bay!
I think we usually like the music we heard in High School and College. I'm no exception, I guess, but I try to keep searching out new music that I like. Some favorites are old Jamaican ska, like Prince Buster, Eighties british ska bands like the Specials, and moody guitar bands like the Cure or Radiohead. Today, though, I seem to be on a Latin kick. The congas are pumpin'... In general I think it's pretty easy to find stuff that moves me.
First Date
The first date should be something fun, whether the chemistry is there or not, so I think finding something that you have in common is important. I like to go for an afternoon hike in the hills on a nice sunny afternoon, because if it works out we can spend the evening looking for the perfect margarita or getting a bite to eat. If not, at least we had a good day out in the sun and got some exercise! I also like a nice coffee. As a Berkeley boy, I prefer Peet's to Starbucks, but I can venti frappuchino, too.
