I do my best to show love in my daily life, especially as a teacher. I asked my family, friends, and elementary school students (kids tell it like it is) and they characterize me as: FUN (I can be a little "cheeky"), caring, intelligent/witty, loyal, warm, giving, and friendly/outgoing. My students beg for math homework and sometimes they even call me "Mom" by accident. My smile lasts all day after that! They teach me so much. For example, they showed me the fancy criss-cross arms move that boxers do. What a great time laughing out loud. I was so lucky they did not have a camera! And, I always have a hug ready when they need it. ;-) In fact, this is really my secret take over attempt at ruling the world through my students. Shhh, don't tell anybody!

I like to be treated like a lady--I'm truly an old-fashioned romantic at heart--while maintaining my independent, spunky streak. I'm a globe trotter via planes (hold my lightweight carry on? That's all I travel with!), trains, automobiles (it's okay to open my door), camels (I'll hold onto your waist), and elephants. I've worked overseas teaching English in Japan with the bonus of learning to plant wet rice. I have this international sense that makes me feel right at home in Paris, Kyoto, or Detroit (yep, I'm a Motown girl). I enjoy the adventure of life--foie gras, sushi, or burgers with steak fries--let's go! When not traveling, hiking, hosting a dinner party, or dancing, I also carve out some relax time to curl up with my two cats and read a book.
