About Me
It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone but it takes a lifetime to forget someone. Don’t go for looks: they can deceive, Don’t go for wealth even that fades away, Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright, find the one that makes your heart smile. There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real. May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy. Always put yourself in others shoes. If you feel that it hurts you It probably hurts the other person too. The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes their way. This is the motto that I try to live by. I belive in being honest, supportive, understanding, loving and respectful to and for the person I am with.

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to learn a bit about me. I hope that you will find my information favorable, and that you'll consider sending me a message so I can learn more about you as well. I'm a sincere, small town farm boy who spends most of his time outside usually getting dirty, but can get dressed up as well.

I try to look at life a little differently. Many people ask if I see the glass half full or half empty. I use to look at the glass half full. Since I’ve grown and been spending more time on my own, I realized that the glass is actually twice as large as it needs to be for the contents inside. (unless it’s a wine glass) I hope you’ll take a moment and think about this, and see that I am open minded, and able to think freely.

I am extremely easy going. I can often be found at home just strumming my guitar on the couch, making wine in the basement (about 100 gallons a year), camping, boating, fishing, 4 wheeling, farming, snowmobiling, working in the yard, etc. I try to go camping as much as possible over the summer at the private hunting / fishing property or on the Kaskaskia river. I take life seriously, but I do it with a smile and a laugh. I am a volunteer firefighter / first responder. I do a lot for my small town that I’m from.

Gosh, I hate talking about myself, I’d rather be learning about you…. Ok, I’ll continue..

I have a very easy going personality. I was telling my buddy the other day… I said to him, “I could get kicked in the crotch and I’m still going to have a great day today”. Now, this isn’t an invitation to kick me, but I hope you see what I mean. Just guy talk, I guess. :)

I’m not a muscle head, fighter, liar, cheater or anything like that. I’m just me. I use to never work out, but recently was challenged by a friend to run a 5k for the St. Libory Schlambach Fest... So, I've joined a gym, came up with a work out program, and everything seems to be coming along quite well. Just after a month of working out, I ran 3 miles total in two sets in 36 min total. Just the other day, I did a run/walk 3 mile in just 29 min 20 seconds. My goal is to keep working out and staying in shape... I've been blessed to have a good physical general build as I'm 6'1" tall, and now 208 lbs. I guess I need to get a new photo here, but I think I've got a lot already.

Ok, now for what I look for.. This is hard as I see many different traits in many of the profiles I’ve read that I find attractive. Intelligence, confidence, independence, beauty, good physical condition, a beautiful smile all attract my attention. I’m not the best dresser, and am somewhat colorblind. :) Yes, that along with the fact that I’m a guy, made it really hard to pick out flooring, wall colors, cabinets, etc and decorating in my new house.

I enjoy visiting wineries and I put on an international 2 day winefest each year. I own the site WinePress.US. I’m just a guy, looking for a girl, to spend time with, share experiences with, and take it from there. I hope you found this favorable and look forward to learning more about you. I understand that women are human beings, and that each one has a little girl inside, regardless of their age. They can still be sophisticated, successful and intelligent, and still have that little girl inside. I hope to understand and learn about you and who you are.

Other than that, best of wishes to you, thanks for dropping by.
Joel

In my own words for fun:
I enjoy tending to my grape vines, and making wine in the basement. I also enjoy camping and just relaxing around the camp fire. Don't forget boating & fishing, playing softball, fire fighting, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling and such.

My Job:
I am self employed, I own WinePress.US, the largest wine making discussion forum on the entire Internet. I also enjoy building web sites and maintaining them. That keeps me busy, but I do have a lot of free time for other activities.

My Ethnicity:
I'm 3/4 German and 1/4 Hungarian

My Religion:
I am born and raised catholic, however there are things that I disagree with in the church, and haven't been going as regularly as I should. One of my goals this year is to attend church a little more regularly.

My Education:
SIUE School of Business. I've been thru the school of hard knocks it seems. I currently run the largest wine making & grape growing discussion forum on the Internet.

Favorite Hot Spots:
I'd say that my favorite local travel destinations would be wineries. I enjoy sitting outside at a winery with some cheese and someone special, having a glass of wine.

Favorite Things:
I guess my favorite foods would be prime rib, fried chicken, lobster, and lasagna, oh beef curry is great too. As for music, I love any music that has acoustic guitar or a piano in it. Mostly, I enjoy just strumming my guitar around a bonfire.

Last Read:
I read magazines for wine making, winery management, snowmobiling and hunting. I also read a few books on building your own home an being your own general contractor.

First Date
It'd be hard to explain what I'd do on a first date, because it would be focused around what the person with me on the date has interest in. I'd try to include something that she is interested into the date, or build the date around her interest.

Or we could always have dinner and go to a winery.. :)

Oh, yeah.. Drug free and disease free... :)
