About Me
I was raised on a grain farm. Attended college at ISU with a concentration in fine art. Past years I worked my way through college. I've been a welder, factory worker, photographer, done a sales territory in the St. Louis area, licensed insurance agent, and more. I'm an author of run-on sentences! Ha! I have a mixture of interest enjoying the arts, weekend travel, sports, and more.
Sometimes you might find me near a local lake riding the curves then stopping off at the local Green Gables I can always count on running in to someone there from sometime or another in my life. Now that it is sunny and warmer you might hear of me deadheading to some motorcyle race or rally. I find these events have a great mix of society in attendance. You might also find me on some off the beaten path riding enjoying the vastness of creation. It's relaxing to view beautiful scenery, blue skys, the wild weeds across the hills. I love smelling the country. The greatest would be for a new best friend riding on the back hugging me with admiration and a squeeze every now and again. Even a morning drive with a companion and the sun roof open can be a refreshing time. Every once in awhile I will disappear to spend a day fishing with my brother on his bass boat. I also join my daughter, son-n-law and lil' grandbaby!
I love to barbecue. I love ethnic restaurants. I love the lil' Italian grocery store on the Hill in St. Louis. Have you tried the Burger Barge in East Peoria along the river?! Crazy little place. I also like to attend the local community play or big city symphony. Now is the time of year when the festivals take place and I can't wait. Last summer I even loaded up the pick-up truck, lawn chairs, blankets, a cooler of snacks and drinks, my son, and date and drove some miles to a drive-in movie. IT WAS GREAT! The nastolgia was a blast. We all ended up snuggling under the same blanket in the back of the truck before the movie ended! It became a little cool out. My goal here is to form more friendships. Perhaps something special would develope and well that's just as welcome.
First Date
First date would really depend on the communication I receive from another. Probably keep it simple just to see if there's a genuine interest. I might consider a small lunch outdoors in the warmth of the sun. If we've emailed and progressed enough to talk on the phone maybe on the second or third date it would be late afternoon. I might suggest a picnic basket with deli sandwiches, cheese, kiwi, grapes, fresh peach, and lil' wine or cool raspberry tea watching the sun lower in the sky. Nothing like driving back at dusk just when you can find the deer out of the woods grazing. Just the thought of it gets me excited. Okay so maybe we wouldn't want the night to end and we'd have to indulge in a ...ha, ice cream....gotcha, didn't I!
