I'm looking to meet interesting, creative, fun, likeminded people who are not just interested in hooking up. I think I'm saying that really clearly to avoid any misunderstandings.

Now that that's all out of the way...

A few stats:
-I'm 34 years old and in the north end of Toronto.
-I'm separated, no kids, 3 cats. If any of that bothers you, though I don't see why it would since I'm just looking to expand my friendship circles, then please move on.
-I can say the alphabet faster backwards than forwards.
-I'm short. 5 foot 3 and a half to be exact. I always aspired to be 5 foot 5 but just never got there, though in the late 80's my hair was poofy enough to reach my goal.
- I am not skinny. A lot of people try to conceal this fact about themselves but I am what I am (shoutouts to Popeye.) Call it voluptuous or curvy or chubby or zaftig, that's what I am. On the flipside I am not fat either. If you ever meet me you will see what I mean. If this bothers you then you are a shallow individual but it's your perogative, just move along.
-I love movies, especially seeing all the nominated films around the time of the Oscars. I can enjoy a good comedy or animated feature just as much as an obscure, artsy film.
-I love music, dancing, cooking, baking, my wii fit, and a few indulgent reality TV shows like Idol.
-I admire the traditional aspects of Judaism and although I do not pigeonhole myself into any sect in particular I embrace the culture.

I have the best job in the entire world! Every day I get to be a doctor, nurse, therapist, secretary, author, illustrator, director, pop star, sports enthusiast, entertainer, comedian, spiritual leader, friend, role model and most importantly educator to 23 four and five year olds.

On a more serious note, there is so much more to life than work but I realize my profession does define me to a certain extent, at least in terms of my public life. I am a kindergarten teacher and I really can't think of anything else I would rather do for a career.

Besides my career I am also always working on self-improvement. The last few years I have really been trying to find myself and have come a long way.

A few favourites:
Some of my favourite books are Blink, The Princess Bride, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and everything else by Douglas Adams, Piers Anthony.

Some of my favourite movies include The Princess Bride, Immortal Beloved, Cinema Paradiso, movies about dancing, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, anything by Kevin Smith or starring Adam Sandler, and lots of others.

My favourite music includes Matchbox 20, Rob Thomas, Maroon 5, The Killers, old 70's, 80's, 90's, just not rap or country, though in concert I can listen to almost anything.

My most favourite food is definitely Chinese! What else is there? OK I realize this propels a very old stereotype about Jews but my mother admitted to me that when she was pregnant she ate a lot of Chinese food so maybe it just passed on to me that way? :)

My favourite hobby is BLUE JAYS BASEBALL!!! - the baseball part is really serious, as I've been a fan of the Jays since their inception in 77. My dad took me to the very first game at Exhibition Stadium in the snow when I was 2 in a snowsuit with pigtails. If you are a Yankees fan you probably don't want to talk to me.

a) You know how to type in complete sentences and how to punctuate.
b) You have a great sense of humour and love to laugh as often as possible.
c) You firmly believe that a mind is a terrible thing to waste.
d) You firmly believe that a waist is a terrible thing to mind!
e) You think it makes total sense that stressed spelled backwards is desserts.
f) You are not a Yankees fan (very few exceptions have ever been made about this.)
g) Stories about cute or silly things that happen in my kindergarten classroom would intrigue you.
h) You are not scared by the fact that I have 3 little kitties and you are willing to take antihistamines if you are allergic.

What I'd really like is to be pleasantly surprised by someone's creativity and not just going for a walk or a drink, and that we both get to smile and laugh a lot. I'm open to suggestions but I love to learn about a person's quirky side... that's what intrigues me most and can be a great springboard to a new friendship!

Please do not post pictures with your children or anyone else's children on here. There are all sorts of weirdos in this world and while I'm sure your kids are cute, they shouldn't be used as a selling feature. I really hope someday POF deletes pictures of users with their kids in a picture for the safety of the children. As a teacher I'd be remiss not to mention this.
