About Me
I enjoy practicing (and assist teaching) the self-defence martial-art of Tai Chi, and engaging in film studies, travel, exploring, fun-adventuring, viewing art and investigating museums, and analyzing life, the universe and everything. But mostly I value and enjoy sharing good company and quiet evenings together.
I am seeking someone (a younger or youthful, affectionate, physically fit woman who knows what she wants from, and what she has to offer to, a relationship. She's self assured, confident, and is a team player. She has what us baby boomers called 'Jam' - but not pretentiously so, or egotistically inclined in that way either. A tall order??) to share said quiet evenings and other mutual free-time in either chatting or viewing films, viewing art gallery installations and exploring in museums and city-scapes, listening to music, or in deep philisophical discussion, sharing a meal (I enjoy sharing in the cooking), or simply relishing each other's company/companionship. AND for sharing experiences/adventures. AND for sharing time-to-time travel, as companions. And for snuggling in front of the fireplace with a good book when not in conversation. Loving to be together. So, call me a helpless romantic if you like. But so be it. And yes, I'm definitely a touchy/feely type of guy as well who loves to snuggle.
My interests include exploring-type travel, scuba/snorkling/swimming, reading (creative non-fiction mostly, with a large dash of police-procedural mystery -- and humour -- thown in for good measure), learning and teaching Tai Chi, meditating, and hanging out with friends. And althuogh I love baseball, I'm not a fanatic. After baseball, I can get into hockey viewing with the right encouragment. Same holds for football and soccer. But I never got the hang of games played on a table with a cue, or with a set of clubs on a green. Given a choice, I'd rather watch Nature-type documentaries than attend sporting events (except baseball, of course). Better still, theatre, ballet, and musicals and concerts are my preference over sporting events (except for baseball of course! Yes, I'm repeating myself... did I say I enjoy baseball yet? lol)
What makes me unique? - my friends and tai chi students tell me it's my quirky sense of humour, and my gentleness, patience, understanding, openness, and my compassion and empathy. And I like a good laugh as much as the next person... okay, even more so. Although I have a low tolerance for North American folk music (not a Dylan fan, sorry) and Country and Western dealing with depressing issues, my music tastes cover a broad spectrum: (in no priority) from Classical though pop, techno pop, metal, classic rock, all the way to R & B and Jazz and beyond ). Indeed, I'm an audio/videophile. (Music and film - home theatre - appreciation fan.)
I freely admit to having an allergy problem, especially with cats, and most dogs. Ho hum.
To sum up, I highly value being in a relationship in which we are both on the same wavelength about things, and have a sense of humour connection as well. Relate?
First Date
A quiet chat over coffee/tea at a local cafe, to start the discovery process to see if we are compatible as friends. (OR a chat over the phone.) We'll intuitively know where to take it from there.
