Edit: May 23, 2009. I am in love right now. I bought my first car this week, the lovely Blue New Beetle! But it's more that "Oh you're so adorable and fun to drive! I can't wait to take you out to the beach and the farm and the slopes and to show you off!" kind of love. There's definitly more room in my heart for a boyfriend!

Edit April 4, 2009: The two pics with the short hair are from today. I had long hair and I cut it all off and donated it to a place that makes wigs for people who lost their hair to cancer. I'm pretty excited about the new look, but it's super different and it's gonna take some time to get used to.

So what can I tell you about me? Well, I just got a job working at an insurance company. I thought it would be kind of boring, but I actually really like what I do, I help a lot of people, and I love doing that. I also just got my BA, major in English, minor in History. I'm a huge football fan (Go Bombers) and love most live sports (sports on tv tend to make me sleepy for some reason). I'm pretty much your average girl next door. I also love reading. There's nothing better on a cold winter's day than curling up in front of the fire with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate or a nice glass of wine. In my spare time I can usually be found spending time with friends either playing board or card games or just hanging out. I enjoy going to the bar to dance, but I haven't done that for age (probably not since Halloween 2008!), I do hang out a lot at pubs though (there's a great one near me, with really good food and I go there pretty often!). I've also started running recently. I've been doing a clinic through the Running Room and I've been working on another program on my own as well. I did the Run for the Cure October 4th. It was the first time I've ever done anything like that before, and it was pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to doing some more runs in the future, maybe even a full marathon some day. It would be cool to find someone to run with though...

Now as for what I'm looking for, well I'm going to go against the grain and say I'm not looking for a 'nice guy' I would much rather date a real man. Someone who commands respect and gives it in return. Someone intelligent with a good sense of humour. Someone who has goals in life and is working to achieve them. I am only interested in dating single, local men who are no more than 10 years older than me (so only men under 35), and I don't want to date anyone who uses drugs (including pot) or who is a frequent drinker. Hopefully when I find this guy we can take time, get to know each other and let things develop.

As for the wants children thing: I put yes because some day in the future I'd love to have kids, but not until I'm settled in a relationship and have been for a few years. I think the whole getting married/buying a house thing should come first. And that's not something I want to rush into either. I currently do not have kids and have never been married, and would prefer a man who is the same.

For a first date I'd like to do something casual where I can get to know you. Mini golf (I heard there's a glow in the dark mini golf course in Winnipeg now and I totally want to check that out!), drinks at a lounge or something like that are all great. There's a great pub by my place that has a large selection of beer and really great food as well, and I love hanging out there. They have pool tables too, so if you're into that we can play, as long as you promise to take it easy on me (I'm still learning!)
