Wishing everyone a Very MERRY CHRISTMAS and an awesome 2010 !!!

Well, it is very difficult at times to describe oneself, but I will tell you that those that know me would say that I am a very special gentleman who is kind, sweet, gentle, compassionate, loving, giving, and I would even say that I am a hopeless romantic. I am very playful and would love to have a partner who was also.

As you can see by some of the pictures I have posted I am very athletic and absolutely love the outdoors. It would be awesome to meet someone that is very much the same.

I have done many different things in my life, working, business, traveling, etc..etc... Two years ago, I was part of a support group for a charity that was making its way across Canada. WOW, imagine seeing this amazing country of ours at just 50 to 60 kilometers a day. It was certainly an experience I will never forget. The great thing about it was that my middle child, a son who was 25 at the time was also part of the support group. So having him along was a real treat, especially getting home after 6 months on the road being with each other 24/7 and the day after he calls me from his house, and says, "I miss you Dad !!!" Now doesn't that just melt your heart?

I am very close to all three of my children as I raised them on my own since they were 8, 5 (boys) and 11 months (girl). They are now 30, 27 and 23. They are all amazing individuals and I am so proud of all of them. It was a treat and a treasure guiding and shaping their young lives into what they have become and I am looking forward to many more years watching and participating in their lives. Ok, I do have to address one thing on here and that is where it asks if you want more children. Well, they don't really give you much of a choice there, so my answer is; I don't want to make any more babies, but absolutely adore children. I think they are one of life's greatest treasures. Mine are all grown up and on their own, but if you do have children, you won't find me running and hiding behind the nearest tree. I would never expect to replace their natural father, but what I will do, is be a great role model/mentor and be there for them if they needed me. As I said, children are a treasure, and guess what?? There are two adorable little treasures in my life now; two grandsons aged 4 and 6, who are simply amazing.

That being said, it is also a time in my life where I can now take some "me time" and enjoy what comes each and every day. There are many things that I am sure we have all wanted to do at some point in our lives...so....it is time to enjoy whatever life brings our way. Why not come and join me !!!

I put dating on my profile because we have to start somewhere, but I would be open to long term if that is where life takes us. I would love nothing better than to enjoy a lovely woman in my life so that we can share in some of life's great moments. I am looking for someone who is kind, caring, sweet, athletic, has a great love for the outdoors, is very playful and has a great sense of humour.

I have read many profiles where people say that relationships are 50/50, well; I do not believe that at all. To me, relationships are 100/100. We should each be giving 100% of ourselves each and every day....no matter what. Can you imagine what kind of relationship you would have if your partner gave 100% of themselves to you and you gave 100% of yourself to them. Think about that for a moment...WOW!!! It can be done very easily. You just make the "choice" to do it....SIMPLE!!! As the old Nike slogan says......."JUST DO IT”!!!

What I Have Learned...

~ That you should not make someone a priority when they only have you as an option.
~ That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
~ That you should not be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.
~ That I did not ask for the life that I was given, but it was given nonetheless and with it I do my very best.

My Dating Advice...

- Don't settle for less than you deserve.
- Don't cheat. There is never an excuse and / or reason to cheat.
- Don't try to change anyone. Love them for how they are and not for how you want them to be flaws and all, because we all have flaws.

So, come join me on a journey of love and happiness...the rest of life's minor details can easily be worked out.

I wouldn't consider our first meeting a date, but it would be a great opportunity to get to know one another. A nice walk or rollerblade in a park on a beautiful sunny day would be great way to say hello. Don't you think??
