Hello. I'm self employed, which allows me to live a flexible lifestyle. I sometimes work long days, but then often take weekdays off. I have a great social life, although travel is something i need to do more of. While i wouldn't describe myself as 'stylish', i do like to dress nice, and frankly, wouldn't mind a little help in that area. You'll see me at an upscale hotel bar before you'll see me at an Irish pub.

What do I like to do ? - going to a baseball game, playing golf, playing hoops, going out to nice dinners. A companion to do more cultured things and/or travel would be nice (those are things i can't usually do with the boys).

Shameless plug: I am intelligent (had a perfect math SAT score), and use my smarts to start businesses, and invest in startups as an angel investor. My true passion is turning an idea on a napkin into a company that can be sold, and defeating the competition and proving the naysayers wrong. However, as i said above, that doesn't mean that i work all the time. I take advantage of my self employed status to take a date shopping on a weekday, or to a nice 3 hour lunch in an outdoor cafe, or golf 18 holes, or take time off when i want to (i took last summer off).

My friends have called me an 'enigma', with a self-deprecating sense of humor. I am not a follower of the crowd, and make my own decisions. I have no problem disagreeing with my doctor, lawyer, accountant, or anyone else, and sticking to my guns. I am fiercely independent, confident, and self sufficient. I'm opinionated, with strong views on most issues. However, i strike a balance with what i just said. I am not stubborn, and realize that compromise is critical in all interactions with others. I like to stay humble, respect other people, show empathy for others, have good manners, and be polite.

Regarding relationships: I am happy being single, and am not desperate or in a rush to find a life-long mate. However, if she comes along, i am ready. I have been in love before, and there is nothing better than sharing your triumphs, defeats, dreams, and kisses with someone. There should be chemistry, and someone I can talk with for hours and hours and say "where did the night go?". Physical attraction is important, as is good character. I am also attracted to women with strong personalities. It's hard to describe the perfect match beyond that - it's hard to quantify. When it happens, it happens. Unlike most of my business endeavors, i realize that chemistry is a mysterious, and sometimes unexpected thing that can't be analyzed on a spreadsheet :-)

On a first date: meet for a drink, or coffee, and talk for a few hours, and then i make sure you get a safe ride home. That's it. The reason is that it allows us to get to know each other, without the distraction of other activities. That's my philosophy. Very simple.

Then we take it from there. Dinners at a nice restaurant and/or other fun activities don't happen until the 2nd or 3rd date :-)
