Healthy, home-cooked food, a crackling fire, laughter and conversation are my idea of a good time. I love day hiking to a mountain lake or waterfall together. Give me a patch of grass or beach, a mountain or water view, and I'm in heaven.

Grew up on a lake in Michigan, so water is in my heart and soul. Love to sail, swim and ice skate. I play flute: jazz, blues and classical music.

Skinny dipping at night made me a lifelong sensualist. In August, the lake was warm as bath water. Icy cold streams flowed up from the bottom. Swimming after dark through the warm water, I would dive down and let the cold streams caress my naked body. The feeling was exquisite.

I love jazz and blues music, impressionist art, and films. Love massage. I'm a voracious reader with a warm heart. Also love growing flowers. Gardening is another passion of mine. I have tremendous tenacity, and am feminine and passionate: a complex person.

I've been divorced for 14 years. It's been a period of reflection, learning from mistakes, and working to be a good role model for my daughter. I'm willing to relocate for the right man. My only daughter, age 19, is a senior in college.

I'm half Irish and English. An ancestor, Edward Doty, arrived on the Mayflower. He fought the first duel in America. I like to thank Ed for my spunk. I'm a born writer and storyteller. Also, I have German strength of spirit.

I feel closest to God in the quiet mountains. I lean toward Zen. Also believe the earth is sacred and must be protected, as Chief Seattle said in his famous speech.

Got a Master of Public Administration degree at the Univ. of Washington while working full time at the Seattle YMCA as a Program Director. Also was skiing, running, swimming and lifting weights. Bachelor degree from Univ. of Michigan in psychology.
