Like many others on here, I have not found too much success in the dating world via the traditional routes (i.e. it's hard to find someone worthwhile in a bar). With that said, I figured that this is the next best thing, plus, it's something different in terms of getting to know a bit more about an individual before a potential meeting down the road, i.e. not flying blind.

Right now I am attempting to find some sort of gainful employment just about anywhere. Trouble is, I got out of grad. school when times were tough, so patience is the key. It is my goal to find administrative work with a city, county, or state government. In the meantime I am staying busy with contract work (governmental sort of stuff), a writing gig, and a bit of a home business.

Personality speaking I can come off as a bit "gruff," but after awhile it's plain to see that I am a "jokster" of sorts that likes to find humor in just about everything. That is, one cannot take everything in life too seriously. Some call it a flaw, other do not, but I am a bit of a "deep thinker." That is, I have a tendency to analyze everything, so if that bothers you, I apologize. In my free time I enjoy tinkering with cars and computers. I also enjoy a good read here and there.

Finally, my taste in music is pretty diverse. If it has a "good sound," I'll give it a try. But my favorite genres are country and rock. I try to keep up on the newer stuff, but I am also partial to solid hits of the past.

In regard about who I am looking for, I really do not have a specific personality or so called "look" in mind. Rather, I am looking for someone who I have a bit of "chemistry" with and at the same time, someone who loves to laugh and enjoy life. Whether or not we have anything in common or nothing at all, it doesn't matter. Part of me believes in the age old theory that "opposites attract" and the other part believes it is best to have at least a few things in common. Otherwise than that, I am pretty open. I am a very blunt person and tend to "tell it how it is." I do not like games and am interested in women that do not like games either.

A first date should be simple: A quiet dinner and a movie at a decent restaurant or simply just hanging out watching TV or a movie. To be honest, as long as it is relaxed, it's doable in my mind.
