I love to travel and experience new places and cultures, I've been fortunate to live in Panama, Japan and Mexico, and those have been some of the best experiences of my life, and I've learned a lot living abroad. Brazil and India are next on my list of places to visit.
I enjoy the outdoors and try to stay active. In the past year I've started to rock climb, something I really enjoy and would like to get better at. I've done quite a bit of mountain climbing in Mexico and some canyoneering in Arizona and Utah. I worked a couple of summers in the Dixie and Sequoia National Forests and the Grand Canyon National Park, the most enjoyable work I've ever done.
I play many sports, competitive basketball and softball and a little football, soccer and volleyball.
I appreciate languages, I can speak Spanish very well.
Some of my favorite authors are Wallace Stegner, Ivan Doig, Cormac McCarthy and Barbara Kingsolver. I like Classic Country and Classic Rock, I listen to artists like Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Roger Miller, Steve Earle and CCR.
I really enjoy ethnic food and to try and cook new things.

I think a first date should provide an opportunity for conversation and a chance for two people to get to know one another. So, anything low key, with little distraction would be ideal. Of course there's always the option for something more involved or exciting if things go well.
