Well my name is Bryan and I am originally from San Diego where I went to college. I am up in this area now for even more school. I'm crazy right?
I am kind of a science nerd although I'd like to think I am not entirely socially inept....not yet anyway. Oh yes and of course I am self deprecating :P
I love having deeper conversations involving personal philosophy and thoughts on life. I was originally raised in a strict religious environment to which I no longer subscribe. The transition in world view definitely required a lot of thought and reflection so I love to hear about other people's journeys as well. I am not anti-religion by any means, I just like having my beliefs flexible to accommodate new experiences so that i can grow and learn. If I think and believe the exact same way in 5 years as I do now, I will be sorely disappointed.

Right now I am in Grad School for Neurobiology. My research lab focuses on the mechanisms of cerebral stroke and blood brain barrier function. That was kind of a mouthful! It's a bit esoteric so I normally don't talk a lot of shop outside of lab :)

While I do care and pay attention to politics I definitely prefer the company of people who are not combative about it and argumentative just for argument sake. If there is a cordial conversation to be had then I am in :)

I get kind of excited about odd things. I am one of those people who will go and see the midnight show of an opening movie and then get up a few hours later to go to work. I just find it fun. I know I will be dead in the morning but future Bryan is the one who has to worry about that. And he's never around when i am making up my mind :P

It's really hard to describe what I am looking for. I could easily make a list but I have found that those lists usually don't encapsulate that one intangible quality of a person to which I am drawn. I know I am looking for someone open-minded. I tend to think of myself as such. I'd like someone with a strong sense of themselves and is able to exude that without being abrasive. I really think that people who are genuinely confident in themselves don't need to wear their assertiveness on their sleeve. I'd like someone who is kind and compassionate but also a little untamed and adventurous. It makes for an interesting contrast :)
