About Me
JANUARY 5,2010 8:17PM
Hi, thank you for stopping by. My name is jimmy liggett, I live in Northbrook Illinois. My heart longs for the country. I love to be in wide open spaces where there's a lot of space between me and the next town or person. I'm not a recluse, but I do love the serenity of a natural setting. Of course to have someone by my side to share it with is part of the dream.
Picture yourself waking up in the morning and hearing birds singing outside your window. Wind rustling through the tree's and the gurgling of a creek near by. The air is fresh with wild flowers. The sun is shining high above your little cottage. You lay there taking in all the sounds and sights and fragrant air. There really isn't any hurry to get up,but you know that when you do,you will get lost in the beauty of the new day ahead.
In my fifty seven years I have lived all across this great land we call America. I lived in Detroit, New York, Boston, Chicago, Austin Texas, New Orleans, Orlando, Philadelphia,Winona, Madison,Kalamazoo and too many other city's to mention right now. I've also lived in Crandon Wisconsin, Little Lake Michigan,Gurnee Wisconsin (one of Ernest Hemmingways hideouts). Indian Lake Michigan,Valporaizo Indiana (when it was just a little town).Butler Alabama (just passin through).I must say that the little towns have always been my favorite ones. I'm the happiest when I can keep moving. Driving around looking at stuff is one of my favorite past times.Would you like to come along sometime?
This is just a little glimmer of who I am,I'm the father of three natural children and several step children. I'm also a new grandpa! I have two grand kids, one little girl 2 years old and a baby boy 11 months. My daughter and son in law recently moved to Alabama so I'll have to make time to visit them when I can. I'd like to find a traveling partner. My preference in women favors the artistic kind. Someone who loves nature like I do. I prefer women my age 50's and a little older 60's. I'm working on a musical tour that will start out along the Mississippi River. I was thinking that Galena would be a nice starting point. I have many friends in Winona and I've even lived in New Orleans (I have lots of relatives down there). I'm part Cajun, my name is pronounced Leejay" in that part of the country.
Please feel free to email me and tell me about yourself, your hopes and dreams...don't be shy! It's ok to just be friends too. I love to share story's with people I meet. I'm a great lover of beauty especially the female kind :-). I'm not looking to jump in with two feet and get married, just take a day at a time. I've made due with living alone for the last four years. I'm pretty independent,I believe in giving lots of breathing room and I'm not fond of jealousy. Closing note, sometimes you can look so hard for something and waste lots of time and effort, but usually you will find what your looking for when you least expect it... thanks again for taking time to read these words jimmy

GOOD MORNING! JUST A QUICK HELLO TO YOU :-), IF YOU ARE READING THESE WORDS,I'LL THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME. DID I CATCH YOUR EYE? OR PERHAPS THE CURIOSITY GOT THE BEST OF YOU! EITHER WAY,IT IS VERY HUMBLING TO HAVE YOU STOP BY.
I'M WARMING MY TRUCK UP AND HAVING MY COFFEE. I'M HEADING TO MY BROTHERS HOUSE SO WE CAN RIDE TOGETHER TO LAKE VILLA. WE ARE BOTH CARPENTERS, HAVE BEEN IN THE BUILDING TRADES ALL OUR LIVES. WE ARE ALSO BOTH SINGER SONG WRITERS. THE PLACE WE ARE HEADING FOR IS CALLED "SWING STATE HOOKAH LOUNGE" IT'S IN LAKE VILLA. I PLAY THERE ONCE A MONTH,IT'S "JIMMY LIGGETT NIGHT". MY BROTHER HAS PLAYED THERE TOO.
A FEW NIGHTS AGO THE LOUNGE HAD A FIRE. THE CLUB OWNER IS MY VERY GOOD FRIEND,LIKE A SON. HE'S STRAPPED FOR CASH AND NEEDS ME TO HELP HIM RE-OPEN. I'M GOING TO REPLACE THE TWO ENTRY DOORS THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO BREAK DOWN TO ENTER. (THANK GOD FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT!!!). I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT THE PLACE WILL LOOK LIKE...SHOULD BE INTERESTING...ONE THING FOR CERTAIN, SWING STATE HOOKAH LOUNGE WILL HAVE TWO BEAUTIFUL DOORS INSTALLED BY THE END OF THIS DAY!
BLESSINGS TO YOU BEAUTIFUL ONE! JIMMY
LATER,IN THE EVENING 9:39PM
HOLY SMOKES! I FELL ASLEEP IN MY LAZY BOY WHEN I GOT HOME! I CANT REMEMBER ANYTHING EXCEPT IT WAS A LONG DAY AT SWING STATE. THE DOORS ARE INSTALLED AND THE LOCKS ARE SECURE.WE HAVE SUCCEEDED IN PUTTING SOME ORDER IN TO CHAOS. I WAS WORKING ALONG SIDE MY BROTHER BILLY AND THOUGHT ABOUT HOW FAR HIM AND I HAVE GONE IN THIS LIFE. WE HAVE BUILT MANY THINGS TOGETHER, DONE SOME INCREDIBLE WORK TOGETHER OVER THE YEARS, OUR WORK WAS FEATURED IN "TRADITIONAL HOMES MAGAZINE" IN 1999. I'M LUCKY TO HAVE A BROTHER LIKE BILLY.
I'M GOING TO TAKE A NICE HOT SHOWER AFTER I FINISH WRITING THIS. I LOOKED IN THE MIRROR TO SEE AN OLD BLACK MAN! SWING STATE IS COVERED IN A FINE BLACK SOOT. I SOMEHOW GOT COVERED MYSELF AFTER WORKING THERE TODAY. I FEEL LIKE ONE OF THOSE CHARACTERS IN THE "AMOS AND ANDY SHOW".GOD AM I SORE! I THINK THIS CONSTRUCTION WORK IS SUITED MORE FOR THE YOUNGER MEN. I WAS HAPPY TO WORK ALONG SIDE TWO MEXICAN FELLOWS TODAY. THEY WERE REPAIRING THE SUSPENDED CEILING. I SHOWED THEM A FEW TRICKS OF THE TRADE. I FIND MEXICAN PEOPLE TO BE SOME OF THE MOST HARD WORKING LOYAL EMPLOYEES I'VE EVER WORKED WITH. OUR COUNTRY HAS PROSPERED FOR MANY YEARS FROM THE HARD WORK AND SWEAT OFF THE BACKS OF THE MEXICAN PEOPLE. MOST OF THE FOOD ON OUR TABLES WAS PICKED AND HANDLED SOME WHERE ALONG THE PATH TO OUR TABLES HERE. THANK GOD FOR THE MEXICANS!
SHOWER HERE I COME! THEN ANOTHER NIGHT TO SNUGGLE UP WITH MY GOOD OLD FEATHER PILLOW...WISH IT WAS WARM LIKE YOU :-)... GOOD NIGHT YOUR FRIEND JIMMY
