I am a creative person. I am a bit of a geek and enjoy technology. I am my family's tech support.

I approach the world with the eye of a skeptic but remain cautiously optimistic.

I enjoy writing and have written enough short stories that were they to be printed out and bundled together would comfortably block open a door of moderate size. I'm currently leading on online writing group and put out exercises each month for the gang to work on. The feedback and interaction is great.

I recently took part in the 2009 edition of National Novel Writing Month, the goal of which is to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. I finished my 50,868 word horror novel in 21 days. It was an entertaining ride and I look forward to doing it again next year.

I don't find lists of activities all that exciting to write about (or read, I suspect), so I'll just mention a few: jogging (my current obsession), doodling, biking and all the usual stuff. I'm also a gamer, having discovered Pong when I was nine. It was safer than lawn darts, something my mother appreciated. I don't game obsessively but I ain't gonna hide the fact, either. It's a hobby, like any other.

I'm looking for dates and if things click, something more longterm. I'm also up for just making new friends. Friends are good. I don't take things super-seriously but I'm not a complete goof, either. I like to think I keep a sane perspective.

I get the impression a lot of people on dating sites are waiting for their perfect match to come a-calling and no one else need apply. I'm not your perfect match. Far from it. But I will answer any message sent to me.

No surprises here, I prefer meeting for a beverage for the first date and barring disaster at the cafe/eating establishment, a walk afterward to chat. It's not as exciting as hang gliding or hiking up an active volcano but it's a good way to learn a little about the other person and see where things might lead.
