Hola. Though I grew up in the Rocky Mountains, I've lived in the Bay Area for almost 18 years. I moved here for college. I live in Half Moon Bay because it's close to great trails along the ocean and in the hills, good bike rides down the coast, surfing and it feels like a world away from my cubicle.

My vacations these days tend to be less sight-seeing than activity-based. In the past year I've gone to Mexico to surf twice. I would love to go to Patagonia within the next year (soft spot for mountains), maybe take some time off from work. Sometimes I think that I would be happy just sticking around here because it's really nice to wake up in your own bed, get together with friends and just be.

I'm looking for a serious partnership with someone who is interesting and interested, intelligent, fun and active outdoors. I'd like to meet someone who is fair minded and seeking a true partner in life to share with the fun things in a relationship and also the mundane (you're not looking for a mom or homemaker). Solid friendship is the foundation to this relationship. Trust is essential for good communication, and both are necessary in my book to weather inevitable conflict.

I work in a Silicon Valley company managing a team of people who are developing a cool product. I can't tell you about the product because I'd have to kill you. That would be bad. I love my work. I spend a fair amount of time traveling to India where part of my team is based.

I like: cycling (the kind you pedal not the huge, loud, fast ones that sneak up behind and scare me when I'm pedaling), writing, drinking wine, cooking, conversation and joking around.

I think of a first date as the date after you meet once to talk, get to know each other, see if you'd like to get together again. Once I know I want to know someone better, I'd really like to do something together. A mountain bike, hike or bike ride would be some top choices for a first real date followed by a burrito or sandwich. If the weather were bad (rain or god forbid, hail) then I'd suggest going to a museum to talk and check out art: SF Moma, de Young or Legion of Honor. I haven't been to the Academy of Sciences yet, so that'd be a top choice as well.
