I am a fun loving, optimistic, confident woman who loves good company, has a great sense of humor and is comfortable in my skin. I love reading, (mostly mysteries) puttering in the garden, dancing and giving dinner parties for my friends. I love the ocean in all its moods, however the mountains are spectacular in the fall and spring.
I enjoy music of all kinds from opera to sixties hits but do not enjoy heavy jazz or bluegrass music or rap. As I have a teenage daughter however, I am bombarded with many different types of music. Fortunately, she is a well adjusted young lady who loves to sing (good at it too)so she plays a very wide variety of music.
I am a woman with opinions but I always welcome hearing others point of view (even when they are wrong :-)). I enjoy the company of people who are educated, intelligent and honest (not always in that order) and if you can laugh at yourself as readily as at someone else you are ahead.
I love animals and have cats and dogs.

First dates tend to be a little awkward so I try to get to know the other person fairly well through e-mail, IM's or phone calls before the dreaded "first date". So, it depends on what develops during the conversations. We could discover a mutual love or interest for a place, type of food, activity etc and the first date will therefore vary from person to person.
