A little about me: I've been busy!! I was an army wife and had my first child while my (ex) husband served in active combat in Viet Nam. I raised two children to be successful professionals. My son and his wife are both attorneys, my daughter has her MBA and works in finance. I have two beautiful grandchildren and another one on the way!! I am very family-oriented....I am a hands-on grandmother, and I also took care of my elderly father in my home full time for almost three years. I am puzzled by people who say I have done something rare and very special by actively pitching in and helping out with my grandchildren and my elderly parents. Isn't that what family is all about??

I enjoy traveling and I do so at every opportunity. I got my first passport this year and used it twice this summer. I love living and vacationing in our own state of Florida. I recently spent some time in St. Augustine, and when I left I felt like I needed at least a few more days to experience all there is to offer there. I feel the same way when I visit Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach and Key West. I also LOVE Florida's West Coast and white sandy beaches!! South Florida is a treasure of culture, sunshine, beaches, and shopping....and now we also have the Hard Rock!! I guess it doesn't take much to amuse me. :)

Now for my passions!! Well, first of all there is FOOD. I have always loved most types of cuisine. I like dining out, and I am also a pretty good cook and enjoy entertaining at home.

I love music. There is very little music I don't enjoy, but I spend a lot of time listening to the music that was popular in the 50's and 60's and some country music. One of my all time favorite songs is, "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" by Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson. This is a little strange, since I don't drink alchol at all anymore. Oh well, aren't we all a contradiction in some ways?

I am petite, healthy, and not overweight. I have pretty good stamina for the outdoors and enjoy walking and all sorts of outdoor activities. There seems to be a lot of focus on the importance of working out and having an athletic physique on these dating sites. I believe in a healthy lifestyle, but since my passion is food I would not be compatible with someone who does not have a hearty appetite and cannot thoroughly enjoy a good meal (including dessert now and then).

For a first date, let's keep it simple. We all know what that first meeting is all about....will there be chemistry or not? How about coffee or maybe lunch?
