IS MY DOMESTIC BLISS YOUR DOMESTIC BLUES?
I love to cook from scratch using fresh ingredients with flavors and styles from around the world. I collect spices and basic ingredients and use them! Have you ever heard of Asafoetida or Nori?
Strong coffee or yerba matte in the morning or any time of day. Fresh ground beans and a coffee press are the way to go.
Preferring to wash, dry and put away my dishes gives me yet another opportunity to connect with simple satisfaction.
A clean, uncluttered, organized home puts a smile on my face. Putting things back where I got them from keeps it that way. No chotsky here.
Do you like a bright, airy interior where the window dressings allow all the light to enter? I know I do and I like to see more than a few house plants inside and flowers outside as well. Hardwood floors with large room rugs over carpet any day.
I don't watch TV much; in fact much of my life has been spent TV free, but I do love NPR especially Radio Lab, ATC, Morning edition, etc. I have mixed feelings about my cell phone and I'm not sure yet whether its a blessing or a curse..... of course, its just a cell phone :-)
I prefer a rural lifestyle with chickens, rabbits, bees and a big beautiful garden that will provide lots of produce to eat fresh and to can, pickle, dry and store for the winters.
My local area is always revealing new delights to my sharp inquiring eye. I don't find the idea of travel to distant lands all that enticing but I promise a good time when I do journey.
I buy my vehicles new and hope to keep 'em for 15 years. Constant car payments don't light up my life. On the other hand I don't fuss over my truck either.
Yes,there's labor in all this 'plain and simple' lifestyle but it's not work to me and it can easily be joyful...look for it...smile...
