Update: I give up. I'm just burned out on the whole dating thing in particular, and I'm just gonna concentrate on just being by myself for awhile. Apparently, that's simpler for everyone...thanks for listening.


Don't be clever, be real. That was the best advice anyone's ever given me in terms of dating, and in life.

Every person has a story to tell, and I feel like sharing. Tall, dark, average build, with long arms to reach up to the heavens, or to give a nice warm hug. I have curly black hair, but I shave my head because of a dare I kept when I was in the Navy submarine force, and over the years have gotten used to the feel. Been known to answer Jeopardy questions faster and more accurately than the contestants on the show. A good smile is the calling card for a warm heart, and I offer mine freely. It takes time for me to warm up to people, and sometimes I appear stand-offish. I do have a devillish little grin when I get really happy about something, and once I do get to talking about something that catches my fancy, I can be boisterous and "ebullient". (Did I mention that I have a very strong vocabulary?)

I like to keep a Zen attitude about life and people in general; unless it can seriously harm you in some way, there is nothing that cannot be overcome or to be stressed about. People warm up to me easily, and I'm known to be a good person to talk to or have some laughs with. I tend to come off a little sarcastic sometimes, but like in Shakespeare, that's just me being Puck-ish, and having fun with the mere mortals.

I'm looking for a lady with a great sense of humor; someone who loves to laugh, and finds every opportunity to. That goes a long way. Sensitve, caring, but with a hint of sarcasm; she's no fool, and won't be for anyone. Intelligent, mature, but with a hint of goofiness. She can have all the poise and grace of a princess, but if she swears like a sailor if she trips and falls down, you got me! Kind, compassionate, out-going...I guess I'm looking for a "girl next door", the kind of girl you can't help but be attracted to.

I'm not gonna "confabulate",(a word that I heard just recently, and found very clever, by the way...) and tell you that I'm not searching for "The One". But if I find some good friends along the way, so much's the better. And maybe...just maybe... if something does come of it, well, as my Jewish uncle would say, (and it's quite ironic that I can honestly say this...) Mazel Tov and L'chaim!

A first date would probably be coffee or a good movie; maybe a nice bite to eat. Maybe the little cafe down the street; soft music playing, perhaps a little candlelight? Italian is always a option; it's the cuisine of passion, or so I imagine. I'm open to try new things and new experiences, and I love to learn. Perhaps you want to try searching for an old book in a antique store, or try walking a walk-a-thon; I'm very versatile. I'm down for a classic night on the town, or a simple night in with a good movie in the dvd player and a large bowl of popcorn. We could take a walk and share little tidbits of the day, or simply enjoy each other's company as we watch the world go by in the park.
