I've been a widower for 2yrs.. Have done some dating, but mainly with old friends, and just to get out with a member of the opposite sex.. After 2 yrs. I feel I'm ready to move on.. I'm a pretty ordinary guy, with pretty ordinary aspirations.. Generally conservative in values and politics, but temper all that with an off the wall sense of humor.. Try me!!!! I've learned to be a darn good bachelor, with particular skills in the kitchen, on the grill, and with the smoker.. I won't expound further on other skills at this time. Have never been much of a TV person, but since I've been living alone, I've gotten more and more into watching sports..Sports with a little beer is a good thing, but maybe somebody out there can save me from this--not real fulfilling, and at the end of the day, not very rewarding.

I'm only an occasional movie goer--depends on my date, and a very sporadic reader.. I'll go several months without reading a book, then go a few months reading 2 or 3 books per week... I like no-brainer mysteries, and historical stuff---both real history, and historical novels. Music???? Lots of stuff, but mainly older.. Like old Country and old rock and roll.. 50's, 60's and 70's stuff on both.. Also folk and easy listening.. Thanks but no thanks on rap and heavy metal!!!!!!

Love to travel, but it isn't much fun alone.. Recent trips have been a Rhine river cruise, St. Laurence Seaway Cruise, 2 fall New England trips (used to live there), and trips to Minn. and Cal. to visit family.

1st dates??? Lately it's been dinner at my house.. Or lunch or dinner out, meeting a person I've never met before, and taking a chance on the outcome.. The outcome??? Usually OK, but nothing great or disasterous so far.. LOL Who knows??? One of those may work out great.. LOL
