Allllllrighty then! Here's where I’m supposed to describe just who I am and what I’m looking for in a relationship. Wouldn’t you know it...my personal biographer is on vacation! So your patience and understanding are appreciated as you read on.
There was a time once, not so very long ago, when I thought I had life all figured out. The fact that I’m writing this here and now might suggest a slight miscalculation on my part. Einstein is credited with defining insanity as doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result. So...maybe it's time to take a step back…a deep breath…and look at life from a different perspective…and begin a new journey...
to boldly go where no man has gone before! Come on, who's with me?! I'll grab the wine...you grab the glasses!
It goes without saying that there are basic characteristics/traits we all generally look for in others: honesty, respect & compassion for others, a sense of humor, and the capacity to love. Beyond that, I prefer to keep an open mind and take life, experiences, and relationships as they present themselves; on their own merits with no preconceived expectations.
So I got that going for me, which is nice.I don't really subscribe to the notion of “love at first sight.” There can certainly be some measure of attraction or chemistry at first sight. But I believe that “love” is something that needs to be cultivated and nurtured in order to realize its full-potential. It needs to start with a foundation of friendship and trust. And frankly, I've never heard anyone utter the phrase "friendship (or trust) at first sight." That stated, I guess I'm hoping to meet someone who might broaden my horizons, enhance my life experiences, challenge me intellectually, and teach me more than I already know; or maybe more accurately, teach me more than I think I know. And in return, it’s only fair that I respond in kind.
So if you could just go ahead and make sure you do that...that would be greeaat! If you happen to share a similar outlook or philosophy...who knows...this just might be the start of a beautiful friendship!
Here’s lookin’ at you kid.And that’s all I have to say about that! One final thought...The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.
P.S. Give yourself 2 points for each movie references you recognized!
