About Me
I am outgoing and sociable. I work full-time, in Renton, in interesting, challenging work, managing the design and construction of airport and flight-control facilities. I live just south of Issaquah, on Tiger Mountain, in a wooded, semi-rural setting that's the best of all worlds - like being on vacation and still close to everything. I've been up here for twenty-one years and love it; prior I lived in Edmonds, another nice place, for eleven years.
Boy/girl twin fifteen-year-olds, the only kids from a long first and only marriage that ended seven years ago, live with me more often than not and are the rest of the time with their mother, who lives nearby and who also works full-time. I enjoy parenting and I enjoy the challenge and accomplishments of working and single-parenting; it's like putting a puzzle together. The kids are doing great. They also live enough of the time with their mother that I have plenty of time, interest, and availability for dating and for life beyond parenting.
Along with working full-tilt and parenting full-tilt, I manage to get a bunch of recreation worked into the mix. My recreations include hiking, kayaking, swimming, art walks and concerts, snowshoeing, ice skating, kids' activities and athletic events, and socializing with friends.
My ideal match? Intelligent, responsible, in reasonable athletic shape, has sound values and good character, and is easy-going and outgoing.
My ideal date? Do a hike together.
My taste in music? Anything acoustical, especially bluegrass, plus, has anyone listened to C/W lately? My favorites are the "working-man songs" ("Shift Work", "International Harvester", etc.) , the "parent-kid love songs" (yay Rodney Atkins' "Watching You", George Strait's "Flower Growing Through the Concrete", etc.) and, interestingly, the "self-liberating woman songs". I tell my kids to not believe a word of the "male fantasy songs", we all can't stand the "sappy love songs", the "divorce songs" are lively, resolute and fun, and the "single-mom country singer makes good" songs are lively and likable.
