About Me
I AM NOT CASUAL. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN LONG DISTANCE ANYTHING. I DO NOT WANT TO BE YOUR FWB. I HAVE NO DESIRE TO BE Y OUR SOMETHING ON THE SIDE. DON'T WASTE MY TIME AND YOURS MESSAGING ME FOR SOMETHING CASUAL.
My Self-Summary: I am what happens to a girl who's gone to art school and after finishing, has to figure out life. I am creative, caring, and I have lofty ambitions. I am going somewhere in life and am looking for someone who not only is interested in coming along for the ride, but has their own goals and aspirations as well. I believe in making the world a better place by helping others and by being true to who I am.
Meyers Briggs says I'm ENFP (Extroverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving) and I agree! Read more here: http://www.personalitypage.com/ENFP.html
I come as a complete package - and I'd rather be appreciated for my insides as opposed to my outsides.
What I’m doing with my life: I just moved back to Orlando and am looking for work in the arts or education. I have a background in museum studies and a teaching certificate for middle school English, so anything is game.
If you're looking for something to do on a Wednesday night, I highly recommend Austin's Coffeehouse for their Open Words open mic night. I'm one of the regulars and their tea and coffee can't be beat.
I’m really good at: Photography including black and white and digital (I use a Pentax K1000 as well as a Canon Rebel XT DSLR), rocking out at open mic nights doing poetry and creative nonfiction, being caffeinated, being positive and encouraging others to do their best, traveling by car or train, cooking Thai or Mexican, baking German goodies
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me: I'm not really sure but I assume it's my infectious laughter, my big smile, or my other endowments? Meet me and decide for yourself what you notice about me first.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food: (a) Sherman Alexie, Sarah Vowell, Anne Rice, JK Rowling, Dave Eggers, David Sedaris, David Rakoff
(b) South Park, Harry Potter, Amelie, Whale Rider, Clueless, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, Spirited Away, Interstella 5555, Princess Mononoke, Metropolis, Muppets, Animaniacs, 10 Things I Hate About You, Lilo and Stitch, Twin Peaks
(c) I'm addicted to music, I practically live in my iPod - 80's, 90's Alternative, Trance, Bjork, Depeche Mode, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, The Cure, Future Sound of London, Sasha, Madonna, They Might Be Giants, Dave Matthews Band, Poe, Natalie Merchant, 10,000 Maniacs, Garbage, Plumb, The Police, Alanis Morissette, Nine Inch Nails, TATU, Barenaked Ladies, Linkin Park, Fort Minor, DJ Sasha, John Digweed, BT, Johnny Cash, XTC, The Beatles
(d) Thai, Mexican, sushi, Indian, Japanese
The six things I could never do without: 1. Friends - I'm very attached to my friends, and do my best to be loyal to them. They may not always understand me, but they care about me immensely, regardless of what happens. 2. Bookstores/Coffeehouses - something about one just goes naturally with the other. Mind you, I can totally enjoy just the one, but they really do go so well with each other. 3. Pen/paper - I know, I'm killing a tree, but it's somehow therapeutic and comforting to write something down, and not just type it in. Most of my best poetry comes from the little snippets I write down in my journal. 4. Escape route - I don't know about anyone else, but I have got to get away at a moment's notice. Even when I don't actually go anywhere, just knowing that if I really wanted to, I could - somehow just makes all the difference. 5. Something to read - now here's where I'm not very particular. In a pinch, I'll read the labels of shampoo bottles in the bathroom. I'd prefer a magazine or book. You don't always need something long to read. I kind of like short stories, that way I can get a whole plot in a short amount of time. 6. Purple - okay, I suppose if I really had to, I could do without purple. But why? I mean, nowadays you can get almost anything you want in purple. It's awesome! But it comes with a price. Sometimes I'm mightily tempted by something just because it's purple and not because I particularly need it or like it.
The six things I could totally do without: 1. Rudeness - really, now what's the point with this? It's sad that so many kids are being raised without manners and I'm not talking about the fancy type that no one really remembers the purpose of, but basic social graces. 2. Isms - any of the isms. They're old, outdated, and really, can't we all just get along at this point? I thought we'd be so much further along by now. 3. Vomiting - it may be occasionally medically necessary, but I really am not fond of vomiting. Nothing brings me to my knees and to such a low point of humility than throwing up. And it wears your system out to boot! 4. Viruses/hackers - they serve no purpose than to maliciously **** up something that's pricey to repair. I haven't had a lot of trouble with them, luckily, but still, the idea of it ticks me off. 5. Migraines - holy crap they're painful! They're so unfair! There's nothing worse than waking up with a migraine. It's like you didn't even do anything to deserve it. 6. Double spacers - I'm not really sure how to put this, but I'm talking about the people who purposefully park in two spaces at once to protect their precious car. They must think their car is so wonderful that they have to protect it by parking in two spaces. Really, if they're so concerned they should park way in the back of the lot. Half the time I have a desire to try to fit my car in next to the double parked car just to spite them.
First Date
I'd love to meet at either Austin's, Drunken Monkey, or Dandelion Cafe - all have a great selection of board and card games. It's so much more relaxing to get to know someone over a game and a nice cup of coffee or tea.
