Just to start with - the picture with the beard was an experiment. I an clean cut once again!

I just want to meet someone who is the last person I think of at night and the first person I think of the next morning. Is that so hard to do? Apparently it is! This person will be into healthy living, which includes regular exercise and a healthy diet. She should have a good sense of humor, good common sense, and be intelligent. She should not be a workaholic and actually want to spend time with me. While I understand that she will have her group of friends and want to have time with them, I like to feel that I am important to her. While I enjoy going out from time to time with friends and my girlfriend, I enjoy staying home relaxing with her too.

I am a local boy. What that means is that if you are looking for a traveling partner, that would not be me. I do enjoy going to the mountains, beach (of course) and trips up and down the coast, and Palm Springs and Las Vegas from time to time. I am not interested in getting on a plane and exploring the world.

I love the San Diego area and have a 5 year plan to buy a business there and move there - I'm thinking Carlsbad, La Jolla

I like to laugh, talk about our day, and go out for dinner, movies, comedy clubs, amusement parks, the beach, etc.

I think I look better in person than I do in the photos we are forced to post here. You can be the judge.

I want to meet someone who lives locally. I do not want to meet someone who lives more than 25 miles from me. I've done that before and the driving became unbearable. But having said that, If I were to meet someone who lives in the San Diego area, that would probably speed up my 5 year plan.

My ipod has a variety of music including a lot of stuff I listened to growing up (call them oldies if you must) Van Halen, AC/DC, Garbage, The Eagles, Supertramp, Cheap Trick, Tom Petty - all the way to Jewel, Coldplay, Fergie, Gwen Stefani, INXS and others.

My tv viewing includes Rescue Me, 24, Fringe, Two and a Half Men, Law and Order (all of them), Southpark, Entourage, CSI (Vegas), NCIS. I need someone to take me away from most of that (except for 24).

I am a big time animal person. I donate to a wide variety of animal charities. And I have animals in my house. I recently trapped a feral cat, had him fixed, vaccinated, and cleaned up and re-released him. He still comes around for food from time to time.

I don't eat much meat and have decided recently (actually May 3rd) to try to go vegetarian. I've never tried it before so I'll see how it goes. But I love sushi! I am into health and fitness and work out 4 times a week to stay in shape. After all, if you don't have your health then nothing else matters and my health is very important to me. And your health would be very important to me too.

I was raised Jewish but I don't practice anymore. I don't think you need a religion to be a good person.
I don't like arguments and fighting. I realize it is impossible to avoid arguing but there are ways to do it that don't leave one or both people feeling bitter afterwards. Talking things out in a civil manner works best. Sometimes agreeing to disagree is the only solution too. I am not a serial dater. I'm just looking for one special woman.

I believe in recycling, solar power, alternative fuel, fighting global warming, and Barack Obama.

I could go on but I'll save it for another time.

I have worked in the family business for the past 24 years and own my home and an investment property close to where I work so I am interested in staying in the area for the short term. Long term, as I already mentioned, San Diego.

First dates can be awkward to begin with so something simple seems to be best - a drink, coffee, lunch or dinner in a relaxed environment where you can actually see the other person and hear what they saying. I'm open to just about anything so whatever you are comfortable with is fine with me. I'm generally flexible on most plans as long as they are not life threatening....
