First and foremost, I am passionate about reading and am rarely without a book. I am an inveterate people watcher who enjoys philosophical repartee. I also love to travel, alone and with others. My eclectic tastes and openness to new adventures make me comfortable in most environments.I enjoy swimming in the ocean, driving through the desert,hiking in the mountains, and playing in the snow. I love laughter and learning. I love the stillness as well as the roar of a large crowd. I find most types of music interesting. My last few shows have been Etta James, Chicago, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Dave Koz, Denyce Graves, Pete Escovedo, and of course sunday morning gospel choirs. PBS is my favorite TV network. I have skinny dipped in the Atlantic, hiked in the African rainforest, danced on the streets of Paris, marched on Washington, and sang hymns in churches across the country. Simply stated, I have many interests and love experiencing life. There is definitely more to me than what meets the eye!

What I would do on a first date depends on with whom I am. To paraphrase the Bard, "The joy's the thing." I would want to do whatever we both found to be interesting and enjoyable that allowed us to grow in the knowledge of one another.
