Let’s go hiking! Or we could just go for a walk outdoors… by the Charles, Arnold Arboretum? New England Aquarium? Ok, so you got the idea about me and Nature.

Um… I’m a DWM and I believe in second chances. Or however many it takes, actually.

What else do you usually want to know? yes I have a job, a career you might even say, but I’m taking night classes to change that for something more rewarding in the medical field.

I have no kids, maybe someday, but I do teach Sunday school. Yeah, I still can’t believe that either. Technically I should call it “First day school” b/c I’m a Quaker. What’s that? You remember the soda called the “un-Cola”? A Friends’ Meeting (Quaker) is like the “un-Church”, it’s for nerds and hippies. Yes, there are still a few of us around.

I do volunteer work for a couple things here and there, I try to contribute to something larger than myself. By helping others I find that I am helped.

I jog, bike, swim, I love triathlons which keep me in shape for hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, kayaking; I’ve been caving a few times. Just recently I got back into scuba diving, and with a drysuit I go year-round!

I am looking for: friendship, maybe romance, maybe more (and my friends keep reminding me “you’ll learn from it, whatever happens, really, try to think of it as an opportunity to grow…”).

So that covers gender, status, purpose… about age: well, whatever you think is compatible with the picture I’m painting so far.

And what are you into? How about half of what I’m into? “Enough alike to be compatible but different enough to keep it interesting” is what I heard.

If more specifics help: my views could be described as rationalist libertarian socialist, I'm a wanna-be activist and troublemaker, my brooding pessimism disguises a defiant dreamer.

Music - live local shows if possible. a wide variety, but I suppose mostly classic rock. the only country I listen to is Johnny Cash. I believe that Bob Dylan and Bob Marley are prophets.

Movies - Independent, foreign, artsy... you know, with antiquated features like plot, character development, surprises, something to say. District 9 was a recent surprise. Kurosawa, Scorsese, Coppola, Coen brothers.

Books - mostly non-fiction lately it seems. strangely, I find myself un-learning a lot of stuff I was taught in school. oh well, that's what primary sources and critical thinking are for.

I'm quite open-minded. Dinner out is simple and convenient for conversation, but a walk in a park or a museum works too. Bowling, darts, pub trivia night, whatever leisurely activity you like. A movie or any performing arts event is great, except these things tend to preempt conversation - we'd have to have dinner or beverage afterwards to chat.

We meet in a public setting, obviously. Ballroom dancing, contra dancing... a lesson first would be helpful. What would YOU like?!
