I do not like talking about myself. It always feels somewhat immodest, but I suppose the venue demands it. I was the victim of a classical education. I am a very avid reader and taught in academia for a while. Much more practically, I've owned and rescued German Shepherds for many years. Love all kinds of music,and,for the aesthetes among you, am a certified massage therapist.

My professional life demands that I maintain a very high degree of fitness and hence I need to pay those dues on a daily basis. And since for men, affection often first enters through the eyes, I would find it difficult to be romantically involved with anyone who also didn't care about their looks as well. Although most of my pictures show me dressed casually, I wear a suit often and can clean up rather well.

Like many of us, my long time marriage disintegrated some years back. I've been alone for a long time now and I'm more than ready for a change. Finding a compatible partner is never easy under any circumstances; but I am looking for someone who is attractive, intelligent, adventurous, and comfortable with both verbal and physical intimacy. It would be nice to hear from someone who can articulate the ways in which they are different; someone to show me see the world through their eyes rather than just underwrite the manner in which I see it.

I know it is customary for men to make first contact and I will certainly write if I am interested. But it would be really refreshing and unusual if a woman felt confident enough to take some initiative as well.

As for humor, I am half imp, love to laugh, and have a wicked sense of humor. Yes, yes, I know I look serious in the pictures. They are all taken by holding a camera at arm's length. To be sure I could have used a "director", but it feels silly telling yourself to smile.

Whatever encouraged communication and made us both feel at ease would be just fine. I would suggest a glass of wine. There is no sense in there being good wine around, if people aren't going to drink some of it.
