Hmmm... what can I say? I grew up in New England and was the quiet girl in high school; the youngest of five sibs who spent most of her time studying and taking care of Dad, who was ill. I was an Army wife for a number of years and have been all over the States, including three years in Fairbanks, Alaska where I began my love affair with nature photography.

After the divorce, I spent all of my time either working or being with my kids; KY does not have the best economy, so I often worked two jobs or double shifts to take care of my family. I've renovated houses, worked as a fluoroscope technician for a major auto company, had my own business making specialty cakes in the 80's & 90's and more. I always do the best that I can at whatever I do. Makes it easier to look at myself in the mirror. *winks*

I've dabbled in computers since the 80's (yes, I had a Commodore 64!) and leaped onto the WWW in the '90s. I moved to Sweden, where I lived for nearly a decade. During that time, I was able to realize a life-long dream and became a writer/photographer. I freelanced for a music company, writing PR for bands, maintaining web sites, doing light interviews and photographing rock concerts. However, things didn't work out on a personal level and I moved back to the States.

And so here I am. I can't wait to make new friends and learn new things. I'm a positive person; I credit God and a loving, supporting family for getting me through the "desert" times. I have a wicked sense of humor and I love to laugh. I might be shy at first but really open up once I get to know someone. I've learned a lot from my experiences and I have no regrets. =)

I'm a casual kind of gal; I like to live simply. I can get along with just about anyone unless they just don't want to get along - then I walk away. I like to discuss a lot of different subjects. I prefer watching movies to television (but I do love "Heroes"). I enjoy all kinds of music. I read a lot, write short stories and consider myself to be an eternal student. I love being outdoors for walking, riding and watching sunrise/sets. I enjoy good food and experiment with both raw and cooked dishes. I get a kick out of trying to figure out what makes people tick. I believe in helping others. I'm a loyal friend.

I have three daughters (including a 7 yo on the autism spectrum) who are still at home. I'm currently pursuing a B.A. in special education to gain a better understanding of autism and help others. My kids are my the joy of my life and anyone who wants to be friends will have to accept that.

As a last note; looks don't matter to me because looks fade eventually anyway. I'll tell you up front (if you can't see for yourself) that I am a BBW, trying to pursue a healthier lifestyle; it would be great to lose weight (cuz smaller clothes are cheaper!) but if I don't, that's cool too.

NOT LOOKING TO DATE but if, for some reason I actually decide to meet someone, we'd have been talking for a while, so it depends on what we have in common. Could be a walk in the park, a trip to the zoo or museum, an outdoor concert, tulip festival or a political debate! Or meeting at a local diner for coffee, pie and conversation. Nothing is written in stone.
