My name is Matt and I live on the NW side of Chicago where I was born and raised. I work for CBOE as an Operations Analyst.

I have been studying martial arts for 11 years. I am a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and taught it for a few years. I then switched to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and have been doing it over the last 5 years. I do other things to try and stay fit and have fun like ride bikes, swim, go running or for walks, rollerblade, basketball, skiing. I like to live healthy and try my best to avoid fast food, junk food, sugar.

I have a bachelors degree in computer engineering technology and an associates degree in music performance for piano. I used to teach piano. I have been playing guitar since 2000 and play mostly alternative rock and metal type stuff, but I will play any genre of music as long I like the song. I am into all kinds of music, but metal/alternative is definitely my favorite genre of music. I do like to check out live bands, one of my favorite places to go is Wild Hare in Wrigleyville to check out Reggae bands, but I haven't been there in a while. I also am into house music and electro type stuff, I've even produced some of my own music and played around with DJing, but I'm more into music with real instruments. I do think dancing is a bit fun. I've got a few dance moves that have won several dance-offs. I don't like gangsta music.

I love the outdoors. I take walks in the forest preserve by my house to chill out after a long week of work and school and rejuvenate my mind. I also like camping and taking trips away from the big city, or to check out other big cities. My family has a vacation home in Wisconsin and I go up there for the skiing, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, relaxing, and bouncing on my big trampoline.

I have a voice that would make a wolverine purr and suits so fine they would make Sinatra look like a hobo. I'm a very humble, mellow, and have a great sense of humor. I'm not religious but I have very good morals and values. I enjoy discussing other peoples religious, political, and social views. I treat everyone with honesty and respect. I'm very open minded and tolerant of all types of people and views. I love my family and would love having a family of my own some day.

Any first date where you can have good conversation will do. A dinner and a movie, or coffee, or a comedy show, or a pub with some good brews on tap. I'm up for anything. Something simple and easy just to meet for the first time is good too. Or maybe laser tag. Teamwork is always crucial in laser tag...
