I've been resisting the whole on-line dating thing, but everyone swears by it, so I figured I'd give it a try. Besides, I'm not really into the bar scene...

So what's my deal you ask? Well, I grew up here in SoCal, but went to college up in the bay area. I still miss it there. (What can I say...I'm a liberal at heart!) I lived up there for almost 10 yrs, then moved back down here for law school.

Yes, I'm a lawyer, but sorry to disappoint you, I don't make a 6-figure salary. So if you're a gold-digger, you're barking up the wrong tree.

I know it sounds cliche, but I went into this profession because I wanted to help people. People say I'm a work-a-holic, but what can I say? I'm passionate about my work. I figure if I'm going to be spending 40-60 hours a week at work, I might as well be doing something meaningful and rewarding. And I'm looking for a guy who feels the same.

Ideally, I'd love to meet someone in a service profession (doctor/nurse, social worker, teacher, etc.) or a creative profession (artist, writer, musician, comedian). I don't care how much money you make or how successful you are as long as you're doing something you're passionate about and trying to make some sort of meaningful contribution to society.

If you just see a job as a paycheck and your primary goal in life is to make money, don't waste your time contacting me. I can guarantee you we will run out of things to talk about in about 30 seconds. But if you think you might be a kindred spirit, drop me a line. I'd love to explore the possibility of friendship, romance, or a long-term relationship...

Before you contact me though, there's something you should know... I have a Sancho. He's been part of my life for about 2 years now and I am not about to give him up. If you have a problem with me having a Sancho, I can tell you right now this isn't going to work out........ By Sancho, of course, I'm referring to my fluffy, 14 lb. feline bundle of love (pictured above). Yes, his name really is Sancho! And yes, you must love cats. Okay... you don't have to LOVE them... but you have to at least be willing to tolerate them.

If you were paying attention above, you noticed that I wasn't particularly into the bar scene. That's not to say that I don't enjoy an occassional drink with friends or family or co-workers, but I don't think a drink at a bar would be my idea of the ideal first date. If I wanted to meet a guy in a bar I'd be hanging out at bars, not fishing for guys on Plenty of Fish.

If you were paying attention, you probably also picked up on the fact that I'm not looking for a rich sugar daddy to wine and dine me. Again, it's not that I don't enjoy a nice dinner or night on the town, but I'd probably be more comfortable meeting for the first time in a more relaxed setting like a coffeehouse. If we hit it off, then we can plan a real date.

My ideal first date depends on who I'm going out with and what interests we have in common. So we'll just have to wait and see....
