Alright, so I figure I may as well follow the site's suggestions and try to group up some of this stuff. So, let's start with hobbies! I like to think I have a pretty wide range of those. I would easily have to say that writing and singing are my two favorite hobbies (though I do both casually. I'm nowhere close to professional). I'm a bit of the adventurous sort, so I'll try (almost) anything at least once, so long as it isn't the type of thing that'd land me in prison or a morgue. I'm adventurous, not dumb. =P

Now when it comes to music, my tastes are rather interesting. Sure, I enjoy rock, pop, country etc etc, but so does 90% of everyone else out there. What I really enjoy in music, is what's known as Symphonic Metal- mostly by foreign groups; and when I say "metal," don't think of that loud screamo crap. It sounds nothing like that. Groups like Nightwish, Kamelot, Sonata Arctica, and Within Temptation are the kinds of bands that are up my alley. Their songs are rather unique and interesting: haunting instrumentals, powerful lyrics, and a certain style that's really rather unique. If you're at all intrigued (or just want to expand your own musical library), I highly recommend some of these bands.

I'm also a recent college graduate, with a degree in Psychology. This upcoming fall, I'll be attending graduate school in order to earn a Master's Degree in Social Work. Once I'm finished with what seems like an endless eternity in school, my goal is to practice as a mental health therapist in a clinical setting. The human mind is something I find absolutely fascinating; what motivates us, frightens us, inspires us, and makes each of us different from everyone else.

Ok, so moving on and away from the academic banter... I'm a very relaxed and very easy person to get along with. I'm serious when I say that too. Just being around someone that I like is enough to keep me happy, nothing fancy. I'm a very social and extrinsic person, which basically means that I love being around people (whether it's a group, or just one person)!
I like to think that I'm a really good listener, and I tend to be well in-tuned with people's emotions, so I tend to catch on rather quickly as to how people around me are feeling. I'm also very open-minded and non-judgmental; we've all got our pros and our cons, it's part of what makes us human, so who am I to judge? =)
Oh yes... and I'm an absolute hopeless romantic.

The first date doesn't need to be super fancy or expensive, nor does it need to be a whirlwind of a night. Big concerts and fancy restaurants are great and whatnot, but on the first date I'm more interested in getting to know YOU! Ideally, for me, the perfect first date is one where we can grab coffee somewhere, talk for awhile, then perhaps wander around downtown Chicago aimlessly. If there's chemistry, then the adventurous outings can come later, but for the first date, I think making a connection with the other person is more important than anything else.
