I grew up in Michigan, went to graduate school in Colorado, and moved to Los Angeles for a job in 2006. I enjoy doing almost anything outdoors including hiking, camping, fishing, biking, and running. I also enjoy playing music (guitar and mandolin) and connecting with other musicians, either jamming or going to shows. I'm definitely not your typical Los Angeles guy. I'm not going to impress you with my fancy car and designer clothes (even though I have a nice enough car and nice enough clothes), but I am more than capable of having an intelligent conversation and being spontaneous. I'm down to earth and like to have fun. Ultimately, it's all about chemistry. I'm looking for that special connection.

First dates are all about getting to know someone. I'm not opposed to grabbing a drink or coffee, but the interview can be painful. I'd like to be more creative, but I understand and appreciate the need to keep it simple on the first date. Hopefully there will be time for creativity and spontaneity later.
