Do you want children? Undecided/Open

About Me
I'm a Fine Artist by education, an IT professional by occupation, but Mattel's Magic Eight Ball says "Ask again Later". :)
I dream of a better world where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
I am a cat person turned dog, a Mac person turned PC, and when it comes to server architecture, I am a Windows person turned Linux. There. Three examples that show I am not adverse to change. :)
I like following rules, but like challenging them too. I like going to music festivals but don't like going to most shows in clubs. I love tackling highly complex issues involving diverse opinions and technologies, but also revel the days when my calendar is open and I have time to do whatever I want. I'm great under pressure but prefer things run smoothly. Oh... and I'm a little bit country and a little bit rock n' roll. :)
I was raised to believe that anything is possible and if better is possible, then good is not enough. And while I believe that and try to live that, you won't find me freaking out if good is all I have time to give. Sometimes, good is all there's time for!
I am an optimist, a doer, a believer, and am very passionate about contributing to and improving my community. I am definitely a glass is half full kind of girl. If your glass is half empty, run to the bar for a refill. Hey! While you're there can you grab me a drink? While my glass is half full, I don't mind if it's spilling over the brim sometimes too!
While most of my family lives out of state, my immediate family lives here and they are very important to me. Duh. If that didn't make you laugh, ask yourself why not and include that answer in any missive you send my way.
I'm low maintenance... like a Honda... I get great gas mileage, am reliable, rarely break down needing major repairs. I just need your typical care and feeding and preventative maintenance, and occasionally, a little bling is good but not extravagance, tricked out Hondas look a little silly to me.
I love playing cards and board games, watching movies, going wine tasting, going to flea markets, going to music festivals, driving somewhere. I enjoy going for walks - especially with my dogs, going to museums, doing an art project, having friends over for dinner, or just drinking a glass of wine and talking.
I genuinely like people. You should too. I do real well with technical and artsy crowds. I can talk about OSPF or Dada, about ACLs or Marcel Duchamp's readymades, about WSDL or the 60s art movement in America. I can talk about cloud computing or lie in a blanket and see a rabbit in the clouds. Since metal and neon are what I use in my art, I can even talk about TIG, MIG, Oxyacetylene, plasma cutters, or what color mercury, neon, argon or phosphor coated tubes will be when illuminated. I am an avid poker player so I can talk strategy around Texas Hold Em, Omaha Hi Lo, Pineapple, 7 Card stud, etc. But lord help me if the topic of history, religion or politics comes up. That's when I'll be asking if someone needs a refill of their drink. :)
I love to travel. Actually, that's not true. I LOVE travel. I feel personal disappointment if I don't get out of the country AT LEAST once a year. I have lived abroad and that was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. My travels have definitely made me believe that a map is not so much documentation of where things are, but rather where I still need to go. Paris and the Galapagos islands are by far my favorite places.
I'm a "make it happen" kind of girl. You won't find me saying, "I've always wanted to go to Paris." I'll just save the money and go. Ten times even! LOL! God I love that place... the Louvre... the Pompidou Center... Musée d'Orsay... Paris is any artist's best destination.
I am not perfect but am very happy and I enjoy life. I think it's important to be polite and courteous to everyone you meet. Manners are very important to me. Ok... and I admit it, it's important to write and speak well. I hate text in all caps. I don't like bad spelling or grammar... and at the same time, can someone please tell me when exactly you should use a semicolon?
So... what about you? Who should you be? What am I looking for? Yourself! I'm not looking for Albert Einstein or Superman. I would be completely happy with Where's Waldo with brief moments resembling Albert Schweitzer, and Charles Darwin.
