Want to know what's really important to me? Living in the moment and enjoying today!

I'm passionate, compassionate, confident, open-minded, independent, grounded, super sassy and loyal. I think I'm young in spirit and in looks (or so I've been told, which is always nice to hear!)

Things I really cherish: my health, laughter, the ocean, books, naps, great conversation, amazing cheese, good coffee, family & friends, the theater, travel (I'm up for going anywhere, anytime) a lazy Sunday afternoon doing absolutely nothing, and animals. If there is a dog on the street, chances are I'm going to notice it. While my career is very important to me, when it comes to work I've always liked the expression, "it's what I do, not who I am." Having quality people around you and taking time out of your day to do things that make you and others happy, is really what's important in life.

Before moving to Chicago I worked on a documentary about patients and doctors at a hospital and the experience changed me forever. Meeting the patients there has made me a better, more appreciative person of all that I have in my own life. I've learned what is truly worth worrying about and what isn't. I've learned to slow down, appreciate the now and to be thankful for every single good day I have. I'm hoping to meet someone who shares a similar mindset.

I'm looking for a confident, kind, funny, grounded, easy-going, intellectually curious man. Someone who likes to stay fit - both mentally and physically. Someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously, someone who values open-mindedness and independence. I think in any relationship it's important to have your own friends, your own interests and love that about each other. And someone who above all, will be my best friend.

Here are some other things that make me really happy: Kindness, laughing with a friend, traveling anywhere, a rainy day with tons of movies, seafood, the shows Damages, Entourage and True Blood, strawberries, James Taylor, the book Watership Down, Fleetwood Mac, dogs, coffee ice cream, a beach, a hammock and no agenda!

I'm up for going anywhere on a first date ... as long as it's somewhere where I can really get to know the other person. It could be a local coffee shop, a wine bar, a walk, a tour around Chicago .... as long as the conversation is good and we can get to know each other, nothing really else matters!
