I'm a bit shy until I get to know people, but here goes:

I'm intelligent, very open and understanding, and I always stick up for the underdog. I'm loyal to a fault and very honest. I'm looking for friendship & dating, with the hope that it will grow into more.

I like many kinds of music (Prince, Chili Peppers, Billie Holliday, Ramones, James Taylor, Taylor Swift, Pearl Jam, Switchfoot, Daughtry, Pat Benatar, Dixie Chicks, Ella Fitzgerald---heck, I'm bad with remembering their names) but rock of all kinds is my favorite.

I'm hooked on the internet and I LOVE movies.

I'm a goal-oriented kind of girl,and I like people whose dreams are goals that they strive toward. I have diverse interests (see above), can converse about anything and am an excellent listener. I like adventurous, open-minded people who can enjoy themselves in any situation. Flexibility is a must. Drama is a deal-breaker.

My worst character traits? I'm addicted to karaoke and I hate puns.

Definite foodie: Indian, Thai, Italian...everything but English. I do public speaking/advocacy as both a service and for fun.

I take yoga on Thursdays.

Now, a word from the romantic in me: I love to kiss, cuddle and hold hands…(not necessarily all at the same time) but only with My Guy. I can be kind of shy with the PDA but I love it! I’m looking for someone who wants to hold my hand when we walk together, cuddle on the couch, and kiss me in the park on a sunny day, once we're Together.

I want a one-woman-man who will care about how my day went, who will encourage my growth as a person and who'll respect the time I need on my own (even if he doesn’t get it); someone who will turn up the radio just because they know I like the song that’s on, who will be patient if I pout(rare), and who will stand up to me and tell me when I’m wrong (and who will admit it gracefully if he's wrong). Oh, and if you can dance…woo-hoo!

I’m one of those United Nations Ambassadors of Dating (I’ve been known to have a soft spot for the German, Irish, Scots & Welsh lads--I think it's the accents--Aussies too). I welcome all ethnicities; it’s the fit between two people that really counts. In order for that fit to work , both people must be tolerant.

Ethnicity/sexual orientation/cultural background is not something you use as a measure to judge others. We are all guilty of judgment, but as long as you don’t let it stop you from opening your mind, trying new things, or meeting new people, then it's amazing and exactly what I hope for.

I like the classic dinner date, possibly with a show, or an outing followed by coffee. I'm not really picky and I'm open to new things, but I like to be prepared. Not a fan of surprises.

Strangely enough, I like bowling & miniature golf on a date because it's fun, we get to talk, and I get to see if you're a good sport.

How about a walk by the water in Battery Park? I prefer an informal, "we're just people getting to know each other" kind of atmosphere, instead of a high-pressure, "what happens next?", boy-meets-girl kind of drama. If something's there, great. If not, it may grow. Otherwise: new friends can grow to be good friends.
