How to describe myself? I smile a lot, appreciate both city life and nature, enjoy films and reading, and am looking for an interesting woman with whom I may have the pleasure of developing a relationship. I value honesty, affection and trust in relationships. I think relationships should be joyful, loving, sexually intense, and have multiple dimensions.
My ideal match would be someone 40-54 who enjoys reading, movies, good but healthy food, fitness, hiking, traveling, and being in an affectionate relationship. I am 185 lbs. and 6'3", and want to be with someone who is normal weight, thin or athletic and toned. This can include any body type or height from the petite to the tall, the slender to the curvy—each woman is an individual flower and should be judged individually and not according to arbitrary physical criteria. I have one son who is 12 years old but does not live with me in NY City, though we're close and I see him whenever I can. I am open-minded about potential family arrangements, whether a woman doesn't want children, or has some but doesn't want any more, or wants children in the future. In the end, I am a bit of a romantic. What I am looking for is some combination of kindness, realism, intelligence, affection and a sense of humor. Listing all these things seems artificial, as in fact relationships with meaning for both partners develop over time and are unique.
Just a little about me to let you know some things about my personality. I work out 3-4 times a week to maintain my physical and psychological well-being, and love to swim in a pool, ocean or lake if I get a chance. I also love to hike if I can get to the country. I know something about different European, Asian, African and Latin American cultures, have traveled some in different parts of the world, and am interested in human diversity in its many aspects. I am very liberal and open to all ethnicities for potential partners: I've been in long-term relationships with an African-American, a Native American and a Polish woman.
I enjoy cooking when I can, though I have gotten a little rusty, and would enjoy being with a woman who appreciates this. Whether a woman enjoys cooking is not important to me—if she does, it’s lovely, and if she doesn’t, I can cook sometimes and sometimes we can eat out or get something to go, I’m easy. I enjoy listening to different types of music.
All of these things are just little bits and pieces and seem very incomplete when I look at them. In the end, relationships are about that elusive we thing we call “chemistry,” something you can’t write-up and post on a web page. Beyond meeting for an initial low-key coffee or meal to see if we "click," I'd enjoy taking a woman to dinner or going for a hike for an afternoon.
