I prefer for first dates to start with an activity that would have us interacting, such as minature golf, touring a winery, going to an antique shop, etc. Afterwards we can chat over lunch. Starting off with a meal can sometimes add pressure to an event which should be relaxed. If you are nervous and can't think of anything to say over your meal, it's good to be able to reflect over the events of the day spent together. There is nothing worse (in my opinion) than having that awkward, silent moment when no one speaks but there are a dozen questions you'd like to ask. |
