1. Hobbies = Amateur photographer, enjoy computer use, and digital photography. Travel the back roads and across the continent to see out of the way places and oddball things. Sightseeing is a must. A collector of sorts. Visiting estate and garage sales. Fixing things at home. Outdoor Dutch oven cooking is a favorite. Just to name a few.
2. Goals/Aspirations = Travel overseas, particularly Australia, and visit Alaska. More time with children and grandkids. New grandson due in November. Move all Super 8 mm movie albums, slides, and film print negatives to DVD (Yeah right - a big project!). Expand my horizons more socially, and most of all, live out rest of my life with a loving companion. Been in 36 states, some many times, but not the North East. Wish to see more national parks. I don't wear a moustache or beard now. Just haven't found a recent photo without one. And my hair is not truly brown, because too many gray ones showed up!! You will notice that in the photo taken at the restaurant sitting down. The other photo, with one of my "fellow chefs", is in Salem on Commercial Street just a few blocks south of Mission at an ice cream store, if it is still there and if you know Salem. I am rattling on here.
3. Yourself/being unique = I have no idea! That would be up to others to interpret what is unique. Although, I am determined to get a task done, meticulous to a certain degree while trying to meet that goal, have German ancestry on both sides, which probably explains that. According to family lore and documented reports, this person is related somehow, directly through my mother's maiden name, to the fellow that helped John Wilkes Booth, unfortunately. 8-( I guess that is unique. Spent years at Boy Scouting and volunteering. Successful at organizing large group activities (such as youth groups and reunions, even an air show once). Land yacht sailing is a favorite joy. Fished the ocean, rivers, lakes, and streams for years. Motor sailed (in power craft) Washington and Canadian inland salt waters, fishing and sightseeing several times. Hunted wild game partaking in the joys and tastes of anything that walked, crawled, or flew in Oregon that was legal to hunt. Still like the outdoors. The coast and the beach are favorites. Into movies, music, social activities, and home projects. Enjoy riding small gauge railroads. Have been to Mexico 3 times, into Canada several times, and in Hawaii twice, once taking Boy Scouts and once with just my son. I pride myself in cooking meats. The rest is just raw vegetables and fruit. This resulted in losing 20 lbs. I feel good about that accomplishment. Just a bit more to go, too. Oops! This item should be in the category above. I don't sew though. ;-)
4. Music = Like 50 to 80's rock, theme songs, classical, ballads, and beginning to like country music more. Although, I wish I knew how to, play a banjo!
This feels uncomfortable to spend the effort explaining who I am, let alone before we meet. Will not have as many tales to say, later. Oh, well, that was the advice given.

What I would like to do for a first meeting is going to lunch or dinner at a mutually agreed upon cafe or restaurant to determine some compatibility and traits, with the thought in mind to meet again, if mutually agreed. No commitments. Just enjoy the time spent together. No fast foods though.

Or a museum. There are not any I have not been to in Eugene. Oh, there is one in Springfield, I think. Send an e-mail, if interested. It does not have to be the man always having to make contact first. It is just an e-mail.
Till, we "meet" again, an Oregon Scouter.
