Hi!

I am a very laid back person with very few hang-ups. I'm pretty confident about my looks, smarts, personality, and talents while still being humble and realistic about my short-comings.

Yes, I have a little one and I'm not keen on dropping him off with the babysitter for a plethora of first dates and hangouts. I'm looking for someone special who digs hanging at the park and eating home cooked meals or grilling out with me and the monster just as much as he digs having alone time with me. That may be something big to ask for, but I couldn't see things working any other way.

Otherwise, I'm just your typical eccentric, clumsy, creative type, complete with a dislike for materialism and a strong liking for thai food and thrift stores. Ok, maybe not so typical. And a little bit more dorky.

I LOVE to laugh - at life, at people, at myself. The world has a way of giving you what you need, which is not necessarily what you want. I believe in Karma and in the Golden Rule, which are basically the same thing so maybe we really did learn everything we needed to know in kindergarten.

I love to learn. When you stop learning, you stop living. I tend to read non-fiction, self-help, and research; I'm smack dab in the middle of the beginning of Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity. My fave book ever? The Universe and the Tea Cup: The Truth and Beauty of Mathematics. I seriously love math and science - doesn't mean I'm good at applying it, though. ;) If I want to know how to do something, I get a book or look it up online and teach myself. If I see something beautiful in the stores I think, "Hey, I can make that myself." And then I do. :)

I play guitar, keyboard, accordion and sing in an oldies & classic rock cover band band - you can check me out at www.backtrackmilwaukee.com. I really love the music we cover; I grew up listening to it with my Dad. I like nearly all types of music and love finding something new. The radio and I don't get along sometimes, though, as I get sick of hearing the same thing over and over and over...

I do write my own music and lyrics as well. :)

I'm in my 13th year of working with children who have autism - I seriously LOVE my job!

I can be stubborn, but I respond well to logic. I'm extremely caring and kind. I'm good at listening to my instincts. I definitely do NOT do what everyone else is doing; I have my own thing going on.

What I look for in a guy...

Someone who can take control without being forceful or crude. Because of the nature of my job, and my life for that matter, I appreciate someone who is decisive in a kind and calm way and who is also flexible. Spontaneity is a plus!

Musical abilities are *not* necessary.

A short temper is so not cool - I don't put up with temper tantrums from my own child and children at work, so I most certainly won't put up with them from a grown man!

Video games are cool - as long as (1) you have a job and work hard to earn that video game time, (2) you are not on a headset with a 12 year old on the other end, and (3) you let me play, too!

Loving and spending time with family is a must.

Long conversations and cool headed debates are awesome!

I appreciate someone who understands that your time is the greatest gift that you can possibly give.

I really need that guy who does the right thing even when no one else is looking.

For a first meeting or an actual date? We aren't going on a date right away if we meet online - how would we know we want to date eachother without some face time beforehand?

Start out with coffee. Then more coffee. Then lunch. Maybe dinner. Meet up at the Y. Hang in the park. If we both aren't moved to do something romantic with eachother by then, well I guess we then know we don't want to date! :D
