It's really strange to write about myself and i feel kinda weird about this whole thing, so this will probably be pretty lame. I've been "coerced" into this (c; I'm a widowed dad of a 3 y/o boy. He is absolutely the most important thing in my life, so if you don't like children or mind being second on the totem poll there's no need to waste your time with me. I'm not looking for a "replacement" for his mom, she was one of a kind, i adored her, and i wouldn't trade a moment of our 16 years together. However, i do understand a child's need for a prominent female presence. My son is an incredible child. He lost his twin brother when he was 5 days old, spent the first 3 months of his life in the NICU, lost his mom when he was a year old, and you would never know it! He's just about perfect in every way.

I've spent the last two years working from home but will return to teaching (probably community college) when my son starts preschool. I'm pretty easy going and am happy doing just about anything. I've gained a profound appreciation for life over the past couple years. I understand how short life can be and take the time to enjoy it. It's very rare for me to sweat the small stuff. When and if i have spare time i like to work around the "farm" cutting grass, trimming trees, whatever ... or just hunting for acorns and "special" leaves with my son. Other times you may find me parked in the living room in front of a good race, football game, or movie. On the rare occasions i get out (single dads don't have much time for that) it's for family gatherings, dinner with friends and family, an occasional poker game, or round of golf. I'm pretty set in my ways and have a stubborn streak but will accept new ways if you can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt they're better than mine (c;

My family is very important to me. They have been a tremendous help and i could never repay them for all they have done. Friends are few ... through really tough times you find out just how few you really have.

If there is someone out there for my son and I she will have to be pretty special ...
