I am independent, intelligent, fun-loving, outgoing with a dry sense of humor and wry wit. My interests are many and varied and I like to challenge my mind. I don't mind working or playing hard, getting dirty or breaking a nail or two but I clean up well for any kind of occasion, from a dive bar to a black tie event. I am comfortable in my own skin and in most social situations. I love learning new things and growing as a person all the time. I am honest, loyal and loving with the right person. Taste in music? ALL kinds, really! Some more than others (rap, & country have a few stars that I enjoy listening to, but very limited), but everything from classical to punk to zydeco everything in between.

The person that I hope to find is a like-minded man who is sensitive, passionate and honest. I have never been a "serial dater" in my life. When I was single in the past, I had friends and did things with them and eventually met someone with whom I had a chemistry and built long term relationships. These days, it seems much more difficult to connect with that RIGHT person!

I am a spiritual person, but I am not religious in the traditional sense. I don't go to church, so please don't ask. I respect your right to a belief system, so please extend the same courtesy to me :)(Translation: do not ask me to accept anyone as my personal savior).

Also, to all of you great hunters, I will not participate in anything that involves killing, whether you have a license for it or not. I fully respect your right to indulge in your hobbies, but it is just not my thing and I am not interested in being with someone who finds his joy in killing things. If your profile includes photos of you holding up anything dead...please don't write.

I am an animal lover and I need my friends to be as well. Pets at my house include a dog, two cats and two birds. Could be problematic for those with allergy issues! I do love children, so would enjoy spending time with yours, if you have them.

I have a few very good close friends, sadly for me most of them married or involved, so their lives are busy and full. I hope that I can meet some new friends here to expand my horizons (and hopefully theirs as well). However, I will be rather cautious about who I choose to spend time with. Don't be offended if I am a bit wary, or would like to talk a bit before we get together. Let's make sure there is a connection before we get together...not endless chat or telephone, but I'd rather get to know what you're about. The kind of people I'm looking for are young at heart, open minded, honest, in touch with who they are, interested in learning and experiencing new things and new people.
