About Me
This is new to me but I will give it a try. I am a little uncomfortable talking about myself. I retired from the federal government in 2006 after almost 40 years. In the years since retirement I have concentrated on making changes for a healthier lifestyle. I am a 125 pound healthy woman, and through regular exercise and healthy eating, I intend to stay that way.
I like almost all types of music, except rap, and I enjoy outdoor concerts. I normally work out at the gym several times a week and I like going to various types of festivals, especially outdoors. I enjoy attending baseball games of our local team. I love animals, especially dogs.
I am a caring, easy going, optimistic, and romantic woman who always tries to treat people with the upmost respect. I like learning new things and I have a risk-taking and adventuresome side to me as well. I may be 61 years old but I am healthy, energetic, and still have a zest for living. I believe in simple living, being thrifty most of the time (makes splurging every now and then easier), and avoiding excessive debt. It leads to less worry and better sleep. Most of the time I am a casual person - casual wear and casual lifestyle. I would choose a picnic or bistro over a 4-star white linen restaurant almost any day. Trust and truthfulness are important to me. I don't like dishonesty in business or personal relationships. Although I haven't traveled long distances since retirement, travel is definitely on my agenda. Right after retirement, I concentrated on changing me and getting healthier so I could enjoy travel and life more. A couple of the like-to-take trips are an Alaskan cruise and train trip across the country. I am looking for a good, kind-hearted, fun loving, cheerful, romantic man who believes in healthy eating and living. I would like to meet someone who is active and wants to enjoy sharing life's journeys with all its challenges and rewards. Someone who is willing to try new things and see new places, but also someone who just enjoys a walk in the park, a picnic in an open field, just being outside to enjoy nature.
Retirement life is great but would be so much more exciting with the right someone to share it with.
Could you be that right someone? Friends to start and wherever friendship takes us.
First Date
What I would like to do on a first date would depend on the time of the year. First and foremost, I would like for it to be in a casual atmosphere - boatshow, seafood festival, apple harvest, a walk and light lunch along some boardwalk, etc. Definitely no movie or white linen restaurant. I would like an atmosphere conducive to talking and getting to know more about each other.
