My Wish List,
Who I am:
I have been reading these things for years but never bothered to finish my profile. So here goes. I am in Commercial Real Estate. I have owned real estate all my adult life. It allows me the time, the flexibility and the means to do what I want. Friends tell me I look much younger than my age and act it too. I am comfortable in who I am but I am also open to change. If there is a chance to improve my life, I’ll give it a try. I am very happy; I’m just looking for a great woman to have fun with.

I live in Fort Worth and love it here but I like to get away on the weekends sometimes. I was born and raised in a small town in East Texas where I have a house and some land. Although I love the country I wouldn’t say I was a cowboy because I don’t own any cows. I like horses but don’t have any. So I guess that makes me a country boy with “All hat and no cattle”. I am just a person who loves land and getting out in the country just really helps me to relax and unwind.
John Wayne and Robert Duval are my heroes and I can quote lines from Lonesome Dove, I even named my white Labrador Gus ... short for “Augustus McCray”.
I also am not a "biker", just an average guy that loves to ride motorcycles and has a Harley (or 2, or 6 at last count).

I am independent. I don’t live above my means or feel the need to try to impress anyone. What you see is what you get – and I’ve been told I’m way above the crowd. You can be your own judge of that though.

I’m a good listener. Loyal and Honest to a fault. I consider myself a true friend. Some of my friends I’ve had since pre-school. I have good strong morals and values, like to laugh at myself, musically I like Country (especially Red Dirt/Texas music), blues and classic rock.
I have a spontaneous style (or maybe I procrastinate?), anyway I don’t do a lot of planning. I let other people make the plans and they just tell me when to show up. I like to get off the beaten path and explore the roads less traveled. Sometimes it's fun to get lost but I will stop and ask for directions if I need to.

I’m a doer. While other people debate about projects, I just move ahead. I’d rather just do it than ask for permission. I believe people’s actions are much more important than their words. I spent some time in the Air Force and I lived in Madrid, Spain for two years. When I was younger I traveled to Greece, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean.I’d like to go to Alaska, Australia, Machu Pichu, Africa and Yellowstone. I’ve run with the bulls in Pamplona ( and various other smaller towns), drank too much beer at Oktoberfest in Munich, spent the night on a bench in St. Marks Square in Venice, Skiing in the Dolomites, Scuba Diving lots of places, even rode a bull for 8 seconds (it was 3 rides at about 3 seconds each time). I enjoy people who are well spoken and intelligent. If you don’t know what is going on in the world and haven’t paid attention to the news or picked up a newspaper in over a week then I hope you were on vacation. I like to learn about stuff and watch shows like the history channel, discovery channel, travel channel and KERA but I am not a nerd. I like other stuff too.

Who I’m Not:
I don’t always go with the in-crowd. I am not a pretentious person, if you are looking for a “North Dallas Thousand-aire” type then move on. I don’t have a Criminal background, No Tattoos or Piercings, Not Married (never have been), Not into DRAMA, No incriminating pictures on the internet, No Love Child with a mistress, No back hair. Not bald. Not morbidly obese, Not a sex offender, Not overly Optimistic or Pessimistic, I am just down to earth and realistic.

For Fun
I like to do handyman projects, build things or fix them, work in the yard, go to the farm and ride on the tractor.
I enjoy sporting events. I have season tickets to the Rangers. I go for the entertainment aspect and the beer and hot dogs.
Love the Stockyards in Ft. Worth! The Love Shack on a Sunday afternoons is great for just hangin’ out.
Take the Harley out for a long ride to nowhere. I know some great back-roads.
Enjoy going to outdoor festivals, like the Main St. Arts Festival, Jazz on the Blvd., Grapefest and the State Fair.

Some of my Favorite Things are:
The smell of rain or a freshly mowed pasture, Thunderstorms, Harley’s and pickups (the older the better), Spicy Foods – Cajun, Mexican, Thai & barbeque. Margaritas on Joe T’s patio. The rooftop bar at Reata’s. Drinking coffee on my front porch at the farm watching the deer come out to graze at Sunrise. Sitting around a campfire with a good glass of cab and good friends. Making love on a rainy morning.

Some things that I Dislike:
Politicians who promise ”free” everything. Somebody has to pay for it.
Debt - whether it’s mine or the national debt, No Whiners Please, Rap Music or Hip Hop, whatever they call it it’s not music. Don’t like idle gossip, rude people, loud jerks, drunks, people who play mind games. People who brag. Lawyers in general. Crooked cops, crooked politicians or crooked preachers.

The person I’d like to date would be; Nice Looking, Playful, trustworthy, she’d be a good communicator and not expect me to read her mind. She’s not your typical soccer mom or socialite, she’s maybe just a little bit rough around the edges, not afraid to get a little wild both outdoors and in, someone who is always up for a little adventure. She would like the outdoors, weekend getaways to places off the beaten path, grilling out on the patio, having a glass of wine around a campfire, someone who understands I sometimes need my space and be open and honest.

SO - Let’s not make this complicated. It’s all about Chemistry and Mutual Attraction. We ALL want someone that is fun, honest and has similar interests, etc... It took a while but I now know what I want in a companion. I want the whole book and not just what I can read on the cover. But the cover needs to have a nice picture with a nice behind to get my attention. I am looking for a companion to have fun with and potentially date long-term. I am not a serial dater, but I am not afraid to wait for the person I was meant to be with. Too often people settle because they get tired of waiting. I prefer people who are content to be themselves. It always comes out anyway. Let me have a chance to get to know the real you and I'll do the same. Well I'm going to end this semi-novel, if it's meant to be, perhaps we'll chat. I look forward to it!

I believe a first date is all about getting to know each other and seeing if there's a connection. It should be fun and light with easy conversation and something to keep us entertained so that it's not so awkward. I like the idea of doing something like going to an outdoor patio like 8.0 or the top of Reata maybe Joe T's and then a walk around the shops. Social events like an art or music festival are great too. Major points for creativity. Let's get to know each other first and figure out if there's enough chemistry before we go crazy. Then we can decide on an awesome second date together!
