Feeling optimistic are we?
Or are we just stubbornly hopeful, despite our experiences?

Looking for intriguing rapport, good conversation (no one 'talking AT' anyone), laughter, and comfortable silence together... relaxed ... no need to try to be impressive is there? (nah, let's just be impressive naturally). Still, the people with whom it's consistently worthwhile to spend time (even on the phone) have lots of other options and are aware that the other person does too... Ya know?

The right company can make many places quite enjoyable -- so we don't have to be somewhere "amazing" to have a great time together (although let's avoid the DMV, okay?).

My time alone is always very good too - love (need) reading, writing, working out, contemplation, music, movies, nature, etc ...

I am a blend of being playful, thoughtful, passionate, calm, curious, imaginative, discreet, affectionate, covertly spiritual, nearly insatiable...
(usually not all at once, but hey, if you really inspire me...)

I used to teach elementary school. I'm told I'm great with children, and I tend to like kids (but I have no illusions about all of them being adorable little angels, ha ha). Seeing a happy family is such a beautiful sight to behold, isn't it?

I really appreciate a woman who is kind-hearted, independent, smart, passionate, relaxed, playful, affectionate, appreciative, curious, sensual, considerate ...
(unfortunately, that woman dumped me, so here I am ... Okay that's a JOKE dammit!)

I value connecting with different individuals in various ways (too bad the format above won't allow us to choose more than one category for how we might connect). I'm open to all ethnicities, and I've learned that ageism is almost as pathetic as racism.

I rarely drink, period, but the format here doesn't offer that category.
Ever since my teen years, I have been committed to great health & vitality, so my diet is all natural, which has so many benefits (such as giving one a subtle, congenial scent at all times - yes, at ALL times - no really. Hey, stop looking at me like that!). I've taught fitness and martial arts, and I still train (almost daily), but that isn't the focus/center of my life now, and I can be very attracted to a woman who doesn't exercise ... For example, I really appreciate qualities such as feminine grace, or the rapport of shared awareness, etc...

FYI, when I first created this profile, I was feeling fed up with common assumptions about "all" guys my age (oh yeah, we're all exactly the same in certain ways). So I listed the age most people tend to guess I am when meeting me face to face; figuring I'll 'fess up' if we plan a second date. But lately I feel I'd rather screen out the unthinking (or ignorant) ageists from the start. However, POF won't let us change our listed age. So. My real age is 99. But damn I feel good!

And one more thing, in case it makes any difference to you: I do not watch sports, period (except, once in a blue moon, boxing); don't follow news about it, etc...

Ideally, you will take me shopping and spend lots of money on me.

Yeah right. (Would you believe, some women thought I really meant that?)

(Only problem was, after all that shopping, they felt I 'owed' them something ... ha ha ha)

Actually, a first date could follow up on however we connected initially,
so I don't have a generic 'one size fits all' first date plan
(Awww, and you really wanted us to be generic, didn't you?).

Let's keep the first get-together simple, such as meeting for coffee (actually I'm a big tea drinker), or taking a stroll somewhere appealing, etc - leaving room to improvise (I love to 'be in the moment' - don't you?).

Maybe we could rob a bank together (oh, you're still actually reading this stuff??)
